Thanks guys! So I guess a 246 still has the 15k mile valve adjustment and standard Ferrari water pump and clutch wear. |

You could also mention that it has the same engine found in the Fiat Dino both the 2.0L (aluminum block) and 2.4L (iron block). The Fiat Dino Coupe was designed by Bertone and the Fiat Dino Spyder designed by Pininfarina. Of course the Ferrari Dino was designed by Pininfarina. The same engine is also found in Bertone's Lancia Stratos. |

Ferrari first used belts on the 365BB, I believe. I really wish they'd go back to chains for the new cars. |

3. (I think) body panels are steel trunk, hood and bonnet are aluminum. 4. don't know of any 5. Chain 6. should know but don't 9. depends on driving habits Look at Anthony Curtis Book on the Dino. It has some very informative info. I know there is a couple more books out also. Maintenance questions refer to Forza issue with buyers guide. I care for a 206GT, and it is one of the most fun cars to drive. GoKart feel. It is a bit under powered but makes up for it in handling and sound. I should be able to answer more and am embarrassed that I am not able to. |

Today, I spoke with someone in Atlanta who just bought a '73 246GT. Neither of us know a whole lot about this model and we would like some information. Here are the facts we know, or want to know: 1. 2487 GT models were made (not GTS) 2. 2.4L V6 with 3 webbers 3. ?What body parts are steel/aluminum/fiberglass? 4. ?Were there any recalls to check? 5. ?Belts or chain? 6. ?Cable or hydraulic? 7. ?K&N Filter size? 8. ?30k service cost? 9. ?Clutch life and cost(heavy traffic use)? 10. ?Which brand air compressor came on it? 11. ?Notorious problems? 12. ?Interesting history? 13. ?Best (not cheapest) 246 mechanic in Atlanta (Wade, Terry, etc.)? I'm sure we can get some pics of this car posted soon. Does any one else have a GT? I'm very excited to have this car in town. It came from West-(by God)-Virginia. |
