Tom, I had the same thing happen to me. Bad news is there really isn't too much you can do. I'm sure you've looked into it but if not here is a link on the dispute policy. http://www.icann.org/udrp/udrp.htm Hope this helps and I hope you get your domain back. |

Good luck with it Tom... I always liked your site, and your restoration project. I had about the same thing happen to one of my sites... Some place called domain avenue or something like that gave info to register.com that they were the admin, tech folks and hosts for my site. They changed all the passwords and locked out my control... I finally figured out what happened, and was able to get register.com to return my control so I could host my own website. What a that was to go through. |

Thanks Simon. What a nightmare! It might be even more complicated. Right now, someone in Hong Kong owns my domain. I registered tomyang.com and the original registrar went under, and transfered my account to someone else. They never informed me the domain was about to expire. Now sommeone else has it, and I'm worried they may want to make a buck by selling it back! The Saga continues! Tom P.S. Yes, there are certain areas that are not working on my IP, but I'm a little overwhelmed with the amount of damage control I have to do! |

Douglas, This was never really a problem until Mircosoft came out with Active Directory. When setting up a active directory domain, you need to specify a record for the DNS servers. I'll use Ferrarichat.com as an example. Say Rob's site has been up for awhile. I start a Ferrari book club and call it Ferrari-chat. When I set up my Network, I set the DNS record for ferrarichat.com. Depending upon what the DNS server is running, I would then take over Ferrarichat.com It can be a problem. |
