We have a Marijuana party up here in Canada that actually got a few votes in the last election...

If all goes to plan, Bret will take over Cuba and make his own country, we'll all move down, We'll drive our Ferraris in the day and at night we'll sit in a big circle on the beach and spark up a big fat one.

Steve wait, before you do it. Think how many packs of skittles you could buy with that $300. I knew that would change your mind about burning it. I agree with you, this country is gonna be run by commie bastards in like twenty years at this rate. It's bullshit.

I'm going to burn it. I pay these crooks $50K a year in taxes and all they want to feed me back is 300 bucks. Until we stop electing these idiots we'll be getting stuck. My 2 cents

First off, I love it how we at FC relate the $600 to whores and crack, which are both very valid means of spending it, right... I agree with Paul, good point.

liked most of the post on this subject - always reading in the paper about how the people who really need the refund are not getting one ( poor welfare people ) unfortunately these people do not understand the definition of the word refund. To receive a refund you must have originally paid something in - yet the papers keep saying how the people who really need the refund are upset because they get nothing - well they paid nothing. And the goverment isn't stupid - they give us 600 and we use it for a weekend getaway - thus gasoline ( gas tax ) hotel ( hotel tax ) and whatever else you buy the merchant makes a profit and then gives one third of his profit back to the goverment - thus 12 months from now all of that 600 ends up back where it started - the goverment - now the poor people want the refund -well last time i did math i was unable to figure out what percentage of nothing paid in would entitle these people to a refund. And as i said before the goverment knows that if they give the money to normal working families that the money will end up right back where it started within 12 months. But if they give it to the people who are bitching they know that they wont get it back because as far as i know there is no state or federal taxes paid on crack. Sorry think i got carried away.I would have liked better if they would have given back a percentage of what you paid in - think that would have been more fair - but i'll take what i can get

Bret,

You should stay out of the "cheap" brothels. Save your money and go to a nicer one! :)

I agree that we need to pay down the national debt and so forth, and that this 300-600 dollars isn't worth all that much compared to what a lot of us paid in, but the problem is that for some reason, people in the government think that they can manage our money better than we can, and look at the debt they have run up. I think that they should get rid of income taxes, and have a national sales tax, that way if you spend money, you pay taxes, and if you don't then you don't pay. That seems to be the fairest thing, and would really help out poor people, and such. Just my opinion.

Also as Doug said, How much was wasted in sending out that stupid letter. Thanks again Pres. Bush. Heh Heh.

Martin, I pay taxes and plenty of them. I couldn't agree with you more about the gov't. giving money back for people to squander. The amount per family is not enough to help out if there is a crisis. They could have helped out more if the money went to better education, set up a better health care program or pay down the Nat'l debt. Thank you Pres. Bush. Heh Heh.

I like the fact that they sent a personal letter first telling us how much we will get and when. Um...how much did that cost?

I am not getting a refund....I did not pay taxes!

What I would do though is using it to pay off a mortgage or the rest of the financing on the car. I believe that you should pay down your debt before you waste money for some other things. I guess that is why I think that this no value $ 300-$600 refund is doing anything for anybody but really hurting the country. There is billions of dollars in debt. Maybe it would have been a good thing to pay this down to leave less obligations to our children. But then, what am I talking...I did not have to pay taxes...

Dont get me wrong a tax refund of any size is nice but compared to what those bastards took from me last year 600 bucks is a nice dinner
