Tim, we can talk about the fascist government another time- perhaps over a streudle and a heineken... but you're right, i do have a habit of assuming most (read: every last thing) government-related programs, etc are bad... not something that's good for me, but still, i hope i never grow out of this youth-endowed, let freedom ring, the establishment mentality- even though i have a white collar job- ok, i'm babbling.
i've been there, with the whole money thing- never phased me... since birth i've known that money is not the big picture... that's probably why i don't have any and i don't much care...

.......................................................

"And yes, this should be in the off topic section. Rob kicked my butt before, but I felt
like more people would read it here."

Warren- i was only kidding about the off-topic thing... i'm blown away that you actually did this, i'm so honored, it's not even funny... you're on my christmas list, for sure... (Rob, too, not only did he let this stay, but he contributed to the, er- honorarium).

Ok, now- as far as your question goes- don't laugh, now-
...but who is Giselle Bundchen...?

And yes, ok, if she's some super-hot supermodel, i'd take the 360, hands down, no questions asked, no second thought required, done deal, signed, sealed delivered and all that other jazz... (Disclaimer: i'm not into supermodels- they're not my type. i'd take a full-figured woman over some skinny stick, ANYday. However, with regards to your question, if you put a woman who was to my liking in front of me and paired her off against a 360, she'd have to wait for me to get back- bottom line.)

P.S. Who's Chris Sawyer...?

BTW,

I don't want to start a new thread because then Rob would really be pissed at me. but Happy Holidays to everyone and a HAPPY NEW YEAR. The economy sucks, it's cold outside, but... at least we have our hobbies and Des to remind us why we get up so early in the morning.

I'm going to Hawaii to celebrate the holidays. Anyone live in Hawaii? Where / what is everyone doing this year?

Des,
You make me laugh. Your passion is extreme... which would you choose: a date with Giselle Bundchen or a 360 for a day?

And yes, this should be in the off topic section. Rob kicked my butt before, but I felt like more people would read it here.

"Carfax seemed like just another formality- red tape, beauraucratic, nazi government paperwork that i try to avoid"
assumptions, assumptions. dont always assume that a.) something is government related and b.) that is it is, that its bad. its good that you arent a sheep though, just dont say stupid things, i dont know if you realize how lucky you are to live in this country, but you should be thankful, even for it's slightly oppressive gov't. If you ever do get rich, dont let it go to your head. some ppl on this board feel that because of their $, they are the . they think they are better than everyone else because they drive cheap cars. im not sure if im the only one that will feel slightly guilty when i drive in my nice car 10 years down the road because there are people that are in extremely unfortunate conditions about which they can do nothing.
do u post on another forum?

DES- it's not that we don't think you're a drooling idiot, but i for one, think there's a little bit of that in all of us, and your glee is a reminder of the pleasure we all feel (well, i do, anyway) at things that excite or amaze. (No lame sex jokes here, please).
In terms of Ferrari scholarship, though, i would highly recommend you find a copy of Dean Batchelor's Ferrari Buyer's Guide. Its a concise summary, with B&W pictures, of each production car, and a few of the early pre-production and one -offs. Its a great primer, and even though I have spent a fortune on all kinds of fancy, out of print or specialized ferrari titles, that one remains a basic reference.
Next, you should join your local ferrari club/get the newsletter/ go to meetings in your area. If i remember, you are in LI, so you are near a deep, rich vein of ferrari history and ownership in the US, from Conn, thru NY, NJ and Pa. Lot's of local owners, collectors, etc. who are always willing to share knowledge, rides, etc.
regards.

i'm blown away...
You guys are ridiculous, this should be in off-topic...! :-)

Seriously, i don't know what to say, i mean- Warren, you made a thread in my honor- i'm honored! (i'm not sure where i came from, either, but not knowing where i'm going is half the fun). Carfax seemed like just another formality- red tape, beauraucratic, nazi government paperwork that i try to avoid- but now i see how it comes in handy. i don't like all the technical, legal bullshit- i just like the cars...! My million dollar plan is not a plan- it's an opportunity. Unfortunately, i don't yet know if i qualify, but when i post the story in off-topic, you'll know all about it.

Again, Warren, i'm really taken aback by this thread- i think it's awesome that you guys don't just brush me off as another drooling idiot, who you have to fight off everyday, ogling at your car. This place is really cool.

Rob, i'm glad i can make you laugh- it's the least i can do, you're so helpful and, after all, it IS your board...

Arlie, someone else recently noted that your comments can be somewhat annoying but yet, some of them are very informative and still some are very amusing- i can't imagine reading something without seeing your opinionl; it just wouldn't have that same flavor.

Marq, i've kept your offer in my ear without letting it slip out of my mouth- i didn't want to put you in any kind of uncomfortable position by telling everyone that you offered to give me a ride in your car; but now that you mentioned it- gues whate everyone...? MARQ SAID IF I'M EVER IN THE AREA, HE'LL GIVE ME A RIDE IN HIS FERRARI...! WHOOOOOO...!
Um, ahem... moving on...

As far as asking questions is concerned, i learned early on that that's the only way one can learn something... (in fact, while we're at it, what's a PPI...?)

Tim, i'm working on making my opinions more rigid, so keep me posted as to how they're molding. :-)

i'm really just blown away by this- i feel like i've been here forever and you guys are reminiscing... it almost seems like i'm leaving and this is like a farewell thread... (hey, wait a minute... do you guys know something i don't...?)

Seriously, guys, thanks alot... i really feel honored... FerrariChat is awesome and i'm gonna tell all my (annoying, drooling, pestering, uneducated, freakish, immature) friends about it, so they can come here, too...! :-)

You guys rock.

I thoroughly enjoy DES's comments. He's full of enthusiasm and has a willingness to learn. He's not too embarassed to ask a question if he doesn't know or understand something. We should all have a bit of Des in us, eh?
He's got a standing offer for a day out in my Ferrari anytime he's near MD-DC!

And I was almost ready to start a "Horsefly and Dave" thread in the OFF TOPIC section. Dave Jones (the REAL one) and I worked together for years and we can crank out lines of hogwash for hours. Unfortunately, most of it isn't Ferrari related.

DES reminds me a little of BretM from about 2 years ago. Look at Bret now. No teenage comments and he's rebuilding Ferraris better than 99% of us. I can't get mad at DES, I read some of his comments and just crack up, we need to start a quote thread just for DES, here are just a few...

"Shakira is someone to stare at... everytime i see her shake her ass, i have to go clean myself up when the video is over... she's something else..."

"And Dave, that chick with the horns is walking a little funny... what'd you do to her...?"

"Back in '87, i was 8 years old, touching the neighbor's daughter in places i shouldn't have been touching her..."

"...this stalking isn't easy if you don't give me some clues"

"i'm gonna wait for some more to come out, then i'll let it die down, then i'm gonna jump in with both feet with a whole lotta ...!"

More later, I'm laughing too hard.

I'm starting a new thread in honor of Des. I don't know where he came from or where he's going but it seems like he has a lot to learn and will love doing so. Des, I don't understand how you can love cars so much and not know what carfax is. I envy your position because everything is new and exciting.

I hope your million dollar plan goes through. Maybe someday I can work for you and you can tell me about your XJ220, McLaren, GTO and Enzo.

Just don't tell us that your $1,000,000 plan involves someone named Chris Sawyer.
