Matt: I'd thought that they'd appreciate a jacket even more. Gawd, why did I say that? |

Good to hear Jason. I had a boxter for 4 days last time it was in. Bring them donuts when you pick up the car. THey usually get a lot of crap from the owners. Do you know who is assigned to your car? Eric is really good. He usually works on the newer cars. Gusseppi (sp?) works on the older cars and Ralphi (apprentice) helps them both.

Matt Thanks for the info. I met Alan today and dropped off the car......They were soooo nice. They're looking over the data at the moment, apparently the clutch is 71% worn (after 5500 totally pampered, never leave the car in 1st for more than a nanosecond miles!!!)....this in combination with a probably dodgy sensor (fabulously placed right in the guts of the car) is probably the cause...they're going to let me know tommorrow. They also loaned me a Maserati 4200 (hell, if I can't drive the Ferrari at the moment, it's certainly the next best thing)....I really did receive superb service today, thanks for the advice Jason |

Jason, I was having the same experience while driving. The best thing is to have your mechanic check for leaks from the rear main seal going into the friction disc or flywheel. That was the problem with my car. They replaced the rear main seal and the contaminated friction disc. The F1 actuator was recentered (didn't have to but they did it anyway). When you take it to the dealer, you should have the dealer or the mechanic ride with you so they could see the problem first hand. My problem occured at about 12K miles. I'm nearly due for the 15K mile service and have not had the problem since the fix.

Jason, Alan Johnson is the Service Manager of the Auto Gallery. They are slow this coming week. I am taking the 308 in on Thursday for some quick work. Call Sandy or Alan on Monday morning to see if they can get you in and provide a loaner (it's a p-car....sorry). The number is 818-884-4411. Great guys and Great Service. Labor rate is $125 compared to $225 for BH P.S. Helps if you bring them food too. |

I know that there have been some threads about this, but I was wondering if Willis and Tako could bring me up to speed on what fix was applied to their F1 trans. I was driving quite fast today, and approached a bend....put the car into 3rd, and powered thru the corner....when I looked down the car was in neutral...I shifted the gear, and the car engaged 6th gear.....I am hoping that my excitement got the better of me and that I accidently shifted into neutral (the problem didn't repeat itself)....My car has about 5500 miles on it (which seemed to be about the mileage when people have experienced this kind of problem) If it does happen again, its going straight to the dealer....I'd like to able to point them in a general direction...Bleed lines, friction plates etc. My two closest dealers are Ferrari Beverly Hills & Autogallery in Woodland Hills. Advice on which is the best (and the best mechanics' name) would be greatly appreciated. Jason |
