uh, another one. While in Heidelberg go also to Strassburg on the french border. Nice town to visit and spend a day. Good food as well. There is some nice restaurants in the area of Heidelberg. See if the people you are with can direct you to a nice restaurant that serves fresh rainbow trout. Best you ever had, I guarantee it!

Also see Swetzingen and the castle. Make sure to go on a nice non-rainy day!

Yopu don't need an international drivers license to drive in Germany or anywhere in the world. What are they going to do? Take your license away? Ha!

Just be careful. Autobahn is no joke. Left lane is passing ONLY lane.

Heidelberg is a beautiful town. Make sure to visit the Christmas Market. "Weihnachtsmarkt" and drink some hot wine "Glühwein". No drinking and driving after that!

Maranello is about 7h south of you, actually thinking might be a little more. A 2 day trip. If you leave early you can make it down and see the town, stay the night and head north in the afternoon the next day. With bad weather in Switzerland you may have hours of delay. May be better of calculating an extra day in.

Have fun. See the castle in Heidelberg. Nice grounds.

David

Factory Tours are something that normally have to be organised sometime in advance, often through your dealer. The dealers do have to pay but to my knowledge there is not an option for individuals to organise a visit although I managed it a few years ago on the back of a US dealer event.

If you're calling the factory ask for Frederica Fredrici (sp?)

You could always visit the area and go to the Galleria/ shops/ Fiorano etc again worth checking what the holiday situation is like in Italy, it may be closed!

I'm in the Heidelberg suburb called NuBloch. I have no Idea how far I am from Italy or Maranello for that matter. But today I'm gonna do some map reading to find out how feasible a trip to the factory might be.

Has anybody here been on the Factory tour? How much does the tour cost. Or do I need to get on a two year waiting list?
Even if I fall short of Maranello I could always end up in Stuttgart;)

The Autobahn is no joke! On the way from Frankfurt I saw guys in Bimmers and Benzes doing 100+mph in heavy rain!

I don't have an Intl. liscence. I will certainly have one next time I come here though.
