Charles -- I totally understood your feeling although I am still exploring my 456 which I only got it for 2 weeks. I haven't driven mine for three days due to terrible rain and I start missing her a lot. I will check if my number of posts are right after this one!

Hi to all, Driving a fun well handling, fast sports car is deffinately a blast!!! For DES: Sorry you didn't get some of my abbreviations, CDN or maybe CAN as Frankie explained means Canadian, and yes Karting means go karting and yes you try to find the fastest most wicked "karts" available. My "two" Porsches are both unfortunatly in need of repairs, which is taking a long time. One might end up for ..gasp...parts, (I'm in the same boat as most people and am no longer a millionaire, plus my rich Hollywood type friends have all deserted me therefore no more cheap car loans) The cold weather and snow doesnt help to much either, I did see a Boxter w/ hardtop in place within the last week though. LAST FERRARI I SAW WAS AN F 512 ABOUT 2 MONTHS AGO. Check with your local club to see what they're up to for track days, I'm sure you'll find something. Every one keep finding those cool back roads,I've got mine picked out for next season. |

Jordan, you got the right idea about these cars, they are made to be driven. there are only three cars in my household and only one is mine. The 348 gets driven every day rain or shine. I have already put almost 9K miles on it this year. Happy Holidays! |

Can we say ? (Richard) That's the absolute stupidest filter I've ever seen. Obligatory on-topic stuff: We have some truly nasty roads here in rural Oregon. I've gone stupid fast on some of them. The problem is the critters - deer and cattle. Ouch. |

LOL you guys are pretty funny! Powerbarfs haha! Randy, you and a whole bunch of other guys here represent my idea of a perfect Ferrari owner: One who just loves to drive their cars. I hate to see a good ferrari locked up in some guys garage with 10 miles on it! When I get my F-car, I am going to drive it like there is no tomorrow, take it on weekend drives to nowhere, find my own backroads to put the test to, and just get the fullest out of my car possible. I'm not wealthy, but life is short, I'm going to splurge a buy a Ferrari...AND ENJOY IT! BTW, Randy, how did you get that cool picture of you in your profile? Just a fish-eye lense on a normal camera? I wanna try something like that! |

Charles, Now that's a true F car tale of love. Hey, maybe we could get our 348's together for some breeding and split the litter! I recently took a friend of mine for a ride in mine, we just cruised for a while and stopped to eat, and then when we took off I hit one of my favorite back roads started really pushing hard, heavy braking, sliding, etc, keeping the r's between like 5 grand and red, just loving life and feeling one with my piece, and I looked over at my pal and he was looking pale. I asked if he was ok, and he said yeah sure, so I kept on hammerin', and a minute or so later he yelled "STOP THE CAR!" so I slammed on the brakes, he jumps out and totally freakin' power barfs on the side of the road. Oh man, it was a riot! He got back in the car, and we still had several miles of twisty back roads to go, but he kept telling me to go slow, and I had to keep stopping so he could get out and hurl some more. Funny stuff. But it might not have been funny had he blew in the car. So anyway, me and my car made this tough guy car sick. He asked me over and over never to tell anyone about his queasyness during agressive Ferrari rides, so I haven't. I'm a man of my word. hehehe.... |

"$125CDN per day" Um... what's "cdn"...? Chris, i'm sorry that you've never been to the track... with two Porsches, you should be going twice as much as everyone else (i sure as hell would)... i hope you get there soon- and when you do, please let us know... Oh, one more thing... (i've been putting off asking this long enough, now)... what is karting...? Are you guys (and girls, if there are any) referring to go-karting...? Inquiring (read: uneducated) minds want to know... Thanks...

On a weekly basis, I go out of my way to find roads like this - some of them are a few hundred miles out, some are within 20 miles. Its a great feeling - even if I'm not in an F-car, but I love it when the car is screaming in the twisties - begging for more... more... more! |

Des, I haven't been personally involved at the track yet, I could tell everyone the long sad story of 2 moves in 2 years and waiting for parts etc....but its a lonnnng sad story ...sniff.. The people who I've met from my Porsche club are very friendly and enthusiastic so I'll be out there this summer. If you go to www.rennsport.ca you can see the calendar of upcoming events. During the winter & sping theres enough Karting to keep everyones hopes up & keep everyone laughing. Track days are approx. $125CDN per day. thats approx. as memory seves. Most of this occurs at Mont Tremblant A recreational resort (primarilly ski) within a 2 hr drive from Montreal Quebec. Check with your local ferrari/ other car clubs to see what they do for track days. Hope everyone with no snow is out enjoying thier cars. I gotta go turbo snowmobiling or something! |

Charles, you only live once... go for it...! Take the day off from work, tell her you'll be out with clients all day- something, anything...! Just get to that track and make it happen... if you enjoyed your little ride on the scenic road, on the way back from your in-laws, the track will be heaven to you... |

Yes I have done this. ( In my Porsche 944, so tech. this should be in OFF SUBJECT??) Even in the P-car I've scared myself twice pretty good with no ABS in corners( I think its time to sign up for track time & drivers ed. this coming summer)My max. speed on a straight is 220kph or 137mph,limited,I'd love to get in a 308 and get closer to 150mph! Any European sports car that handles well in the twisties is a BLAST to drive, can't wait to do it in an F-car! The last post suggesting track time is really practical, you can let loose and thers usually less trafic... |

Charles, i can only imagine... There's a thread somewhere on here about tailgating and driving in the left lane and i'll admit, i've done some pretty hairy things in a car, but i can only imagine what it would be like in a Ferrari (or the bull... i really want a horse AND a bull...!) i'll never forget, a few years ago, i lived with my uncle and we were talking about motor cycles... i've always wanted a Ducati (or something else really fast) and he told me he firmly believed that if i got ahold of a motor cycle, i'd be dead inside of 20 minutes... keeping that in mind, i've never gotten on a motor cycle... i wonder if my opportunity will ever come and- if it does, will i take it. Anyway, Charles, do you live near a track...? Have you considered opening her up on a track and really pushing the limits...? |

Markus, your right except that was actually the first time I really pushed the car to its limits on a curvey road like that. I did however take it to 160 on a straight stretch of interstate just after I got it, what a rush! |

Charles, although i don't drive a Ferrari, i can certainly relate to your experience... driving is one of my true passions- all my problems seem to trickle down and slide under the seat when i get on the road... i'm some place completely different when i'm in the car and it's just me and the road... (i'm making vroom, vroom noises as i type this)... The day i have the opportunity to get behind a true exotic is long awaited and my patience only fuels my passion and desire to drive more... Oh, and that's a sweet 348 you have... tell her i said hello and give her a kiss for me (i love all the ladies)... |

I was driving my 348 recently back from a visit to my inlaws house. I found myself on a deserted Gerogia country road. The road was real hilly and curvey, had nothing but trees on both sides that were fairly close to the road, the road ran for about 20 miles. It was 1am and I had the road all to myself so I deceided this was my chance to finally go for it, I did! Man what a drive, thank you Enzo for creating such a fine piece of automotive hardware. The car performed flawlessly, it went around those curves like it was on rails. The proximity of the trees to the road made me feel like I was going mach 1. I never even took my foot off the gas pedal the entire 20 miles, it was incredible. When I finally got home I got out of the car and realized I had this serious addrenaline rush going. I looked @ the car and in my mind I thought, if I was a car I would have sex with this car! What a ride! |
