At first I was thinking "oh great, another Ferrari message board- now I will have to visit both expensivecar.com and ferrarichat." Then we all learned Ferrarichat was incorporating expensivecar and improving upon it and it was a *YES!* day. Thank you Rob for all the time, dedication and effort. Erik in (mostly)So. I know not all of the profile data is updated or used, but here's some interesting stats... 214 308's 88 328's 76 348's 88 355's 66 360's 42 Mondial's 9 456's 37 Testarossa's 35 512's (BB/TR/M) 23 BB's 15 550's 2 575's 2 288 GTO's 9 F40's 1 F50's 3 250 GTE's 2 275's 6 330's 14 365's 9 400's 27 GT4's 22 Dino's That's not bad considering not everyone fills out the profile. Anyone can do those same searches through the "Member List".

F-chat only gets better and better... Its gonna be funny 5 years down the line when I actually purchase my first F-car. At that point there will probably be over 8000 users. Maybe then I will be considred as being from the F-chat "old school"!!! |

Bart, Marvelous idea! Please send me the excel file. Would be great to get the ones with email adress to all shoot them a mail when I know what, when and so on with our meeting! Think it would be best to get together around 20 Ferraris and 40 people. At the moment we have around 13 Ferraris and 20 people so we are more than half way there... Jens, I was kinda bored so I took the liberty to search all the European residents and put them in an Excel file. The problem is that around 700 members didn't fill in were they live. But still I managed to retreive 98 European members. Some of them have been deleted, So I'll sort them out as well I just love those free days. If your interested, then I can send you the excel file. Then you can sort them by number of posts, name, join date etc. I'll also add the email-adresses to the list from their profiles when I got the time. - Bart |

Yeah, Rob, make people pay memberships... But with some people, you can take it out in trade... ...like with Matt, for example- he could send you a new Pontiac jacket every year and his membership would be covered. |

DES, no, 2 years ago we didn't require users to be registered. You could be a public poster and since we only had 50 users, it wasn't a problem. But then we hit 99 users and with the 99% rule in effect, user number 100 must of been an and we required posters to be registered. Gamester just got in and registered a username before I even did in the very begining. |

Nice feature, Rob. I just did a multiple sort (locale & name at the same time) and realized there are 'bout 18 FChatters within 30-40 minutes of me! Fantastic! Should come in handy for a nice Springtime drive, eh?

I think the best way to do this is have drop down menus to standardize the profiles - even then it is up to people to fill in profiles. With drop downs and active completion of profiles this could really be a great tool |

Rob, Perhaps it could be done to sort the members according to their home region. Would be great to know who exactly comes from Europe since I am organising the first european FChat track meeting june 2003 at the Nürburgring (Sounds fantastic, doesnt it!). Would be a great help for me to send a mail to all members in Europe with the search option. Perhaps you have got an idea how to implement "Europe" in the profiles of the european members. If you get that, your local internet domain servers or whatever haven't been updated yet and you're still pointing to the old server. At my work www.ferrarichat.com is already pointing to the new server. Just replace www.ferrarichat.com with the long url and it will work. |

Everyone will LOVE this! One of the benefits of the new server is an upgraded Db that can handle this live membership list functionality. You get a default list of all members in alpha order with 20 per page. However, you can sort how you want from here and even make up your own list criteria under list options. The little I've played with it is really cool. You can see who the longest time members are, what order you are in total posts, who has a 348, who has a BMW, and last login time of someone among many other list search criteria. Enjoy and also offer suggestions! The "Member List" link at the top will link to it after tonight, but please use the link below until then. http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/cgi-bin/discus/allusers.cgi |
