During the FCA track event in Dallas recently I was watching the F50 GT1 rip the track up and noticed a woman sitting next to me looking very nervous alone. I said hello yada yada yada and she said that is my husband driving that car, he scares me every time we are at the track. Anyway, she mentioned that they own the F50 GT1, a street F50 among other Ferrari's. The interesting connection here is that she said they had just purchased another F50 GT from the Sulton and the car is on the way to the USA by ship as we speak. That will make 2 of 3 F50 GT cars owned by one person. Money does grow on trees at least for them. Enjoy!

If the Sultan stopped purchasing, then how come he bought the 456, the F50s and soforth. All cars sited on the map are high end cars that were made after 1990?

Darmascus (whichever way to spell that) is also not in Brunai.

I think the story has half truths. Anyway he is excentric and wastes money like you would not believe.

Its still an ugly car, if you ask me.

Check out the following link. The author compiled a bit a of history on the Sultan and some of his cars. Not sure how much is factual or not, but interesting none the least:

Yeah, this writer called the mondial the "lady's car" whatever that means and he is v-12 biased. Anytime Forza wants to belitle a Ferrari they call it the "ideal first ferrari" or beginner's ferrari. you should see what Forza wrote about the 400i they loved it..why? -- v-12! but a mondial is a lady's car -- go figure.

You're right the front looks like a trans-am and the back (from the side) looks like a pantera. Personally, I think its not very attractive. The guy who wrote the article (goodfellow) comes off as a bit of a V12 snob (based upon his other articles) - if Ferrari came out with a AMC Pacer w/ a V12 this guy would love it - performing wordsmithing gymnastics to describe it! Read what Goodfellow says about the Mondial Cab (prior buyers guide) - he knows his ferrari's but he is not very objective.

What does everyone think about this one-off Sultan of Brunei Ferrari featured on this month's Forza?

I think the front end looks too much like a Trans-Am, or one of those GM Camaro cars. The rest is nice.

The coverage of the Marconi Museum for Kids is great though... I never knew such a place exists in Southern California. I will make sure I go there next time.

When I grow up, I want to be a Marconi. Wait....I AM grown up. Too late. :-(
