DES, the Autoart Lambo wasn't cheap. I think I paid around $90Cdn for it. Its worth it. The one I have is metalic tangerine. Way cool. |

For the price Hot Wheels are good. Bburago I find loses points on the engine and interior. I'm not a big fan of the "chrome engine" look and Hot Wheels is much better in both departments. Kyosho is King and has an excellent Daytona out right now, plug wires, battery, engine all detailed and the interior is amazing. It even has carpet! I say if you're not too picky Hot Wheels is fine. I have both a Hot Wheels and and Anson 246 Dino. The Anson is worth more because it is out of production (hope you kept the box) but the Hot Wheels is better detail (although it doesn't come with the top). |

Terry, like Peter said, Mattel has a strangle hold on things... Doody mentioned the other day that Hot Wheels has exclusive rights to 1:18 Ferraris, which is gonna make it real tough to come across something superbly crafted since, in my opinion, Hot Wheels doesn't do as good a job as some of the other companies. My 360 is by Bburago and my Enzo is by Hot Wheels- it's so easily discernable that Bburago's quality is of a higher standard... As far aws the 246 is concerned, i don't even know what it looks like... i've never been given the impression that a company makes one model better than others, but certainly there are other people on here that have more experience with 1:18 models... Peter, how much was your Murcielago, from AutoArt, if you don't mind my asking...? i have a titanium one from Maisto and almost bought another one, in lime green, but decided against it... Maisto's 1:18s run for about $20, so it's not so difficult for me to be able to pick one up, here and there, it's just hard as hell finding ones i like... |

With the strangle-hold of Mattel for model Ferraris, its hard to point to any of them as the best. Kyosho has done a good job so far (still under licence to Mattel though...), but the rest of their (non-Ferrari) models are superb. UT and Autoart are excellent model makers, they include tremendous detail. I'm still amazed at my Autoart Lambo Murcielago. Some of Bburago's latest releases of Ferraris (pre-Mattel) have been really nice. The 550 and 456 from them are very nicely detailed and perfectly proportioned. |

I recently purchased a Anson 1:18 scale 246, it was ok. Which model manufacture do you think is best for the 246, and other Ferrari's? |
