Anthony, that is so cool! Seeing the trophy and his mom with the RV in the background reminds me of the yesteryears of F1. When Lauda dropped the cup off at the local gas station to get a free car wash or so the story goes. Speaking of Lauda, even that Monza 1,2,3 didn't save him...

So tell us, how did this close relationship evolve? Just accidental or did your last name (unusual for a Brit) help you in any way? Reminds me of a local artist whose name is also Ferrari, who became (probably because of his name) close friends with the late Joe Marchetti.

My wife's looking into the Arnoux, Johannson signatures for you.
I'd forgotten about your suit. It's great! Monza 2002 was particulary special because Eddie Irvine finished 3rd. It was like a Ferrari 1, 2, 3! Eddie's parents were obviously very happy! Here's a pic of Kathleen (Eddie's mother), Andy (my mate), and me with Eddie's trophy from the race!:-)

Anthony, my nephew is about 25, so that kinda tells you where I'm at agewise...I guess the good news is, that I've been following F1 before Schumi was even born! My nephew is not a Ferrari nut (yet! I'll work on that, trust me), but a F1 nut. Kinda like I was at that age, when you're younger I think you're more likely to become a driver's fan, whereas over the years your loyalties are more with a team, at least that's what happened to me.

Glad to hear, that you think Monza was chaos. Since I liked it (actually I was impressed by the Italian guards in the parking lot talking to me in English!), maybe Imola won't be that bad either.

Anyhow, since you're hanging with the Irvine's I think I really have to get together with you. After all I love showing up wearing 'his' suit (see current Video thread in Racing). Eddie, the almost champion in 99 (all it would have needed was another Schumi-Hill like pass with Schumi-Hakkinen)...oh well, that's racing.

Since you're so well connected, any ideas on how to get something signed by Arnoux or Johannson?

PS: Planning on going to the Barcelona GP in 2004. Maybe we'll meet again.

I've been to the Monza GP 5 times. We never take the kids there as it can get a little rowdy!:-)
We usually camp with Eddie Irvine's parents.
We usually make the Spanish GP our 'holiday' and we stay near the coast so the girls get to play on a beach and then go to the race.
How old's your nephew? My daughter's are 8 & 5. Is your nephew a Ferrari nut? My daughter's Barbie dolls have matching 355 Spiders!:-)

I went through Grand Prix Tours. I had the best time!!!! Everything is VERY organized...Meals, Hotels, Buses to and back from the track. You can even sign up for the optional Ferrari Factory Tour. (If they still have it next year.)Have fun when you go, & eat lots of pizza!!!! It doesn't get any better then there!!!!!!!

Anthony,

staying in Bologna. Will go to Imola (with my nephew) only for the race. Never been there, heard it was typical Italian 'Casino grande'. Been to Monza, that was very organized, but heard bad stories about Imola, especially the Tifosi corner (hey, that's me saying that!) Ravazza. Hopefully we'll be ok in the higher paying real seats.
Monday I reserved for Modena (except the museum of course), hoping the F1 team will be testing at Fiorano. Still have some hopes on FNA as I asked for a factory tour, we'll see.

Would love to chat with you guys, sounds you guys are well connected with memorabilia stuff etc.

Great. I look forward to it. The race is during a school holiday so I'll have my wife & 2 daughters with me. It'll be my first trip to Imola. My wife's been a few times. I've been to Maranello and Modena a few times though.
We'll probably stay at Rimini and drive up to Imola each day. That way the girls get a beach holiday and mum & dad get to watch 'boring racing cars'!:-)

I booked my tickets through my travel agent.

Anthony, I might take you up on that offer. I'll be in the section with the last chicane (before the S/F line).

Trying to combine this with a trip to Maranello/Modena/Fiorano.
