Thanks for the tips guys... had the stereo now for about 1 1/2 weeks and I'm really happy with it. Modman - I'll keep your suggestions in mind for future enhancements Dave - yes, it is the one that has the removable front fascia, but I don't plan to remove it (just keep the flap down) Mike/Noel - I think my next purchase will be the team voodoo knob. I saw Henry Chin's aluminum knob on his 308 and it looks great... I'm gonna have to get me one James - I just saw your J6 MKIV in the off-topic section - BEAUTIFUL piece of art you've got there. I would like to collect documented racing records for my former challenge car as well... If any 348 owner is interested in this setup (or just the box) I can put you in touch with the person who built it for me. |

Yes Mike I saw that but unfortunately I already bought one at Stcorsa for $75. I wish I waited. Oh well. |

Noel: Polished engraved shift knobs are now much cheaper since Voodoo agreed to start making them for Ferraris. I have one, they're great, and only $40! Check the thread at www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/21/173904.html

Hope your Alpine head unit isn't a removable Fascia one, or if it is I would strongly advise leaving it in place i.e. just use the F flap for concealing. I've just scrapped what was a v'expensive Alpine head unit after just 3 yrs of fitment. Its Fascia to Main unit connections were no longer serviceable and the plastic retention lip had worn beyond limits of usefullness. |

Byron, I see a roll bar in the rear- don't you have it covering the front? Oh by the way if you put the sub in the front compartment and remove the plate under the driverside leading into the interior, it would be a huge difference in sound, and most importantly don't use the factory speaker wires leading into the doors as the have very poor connections in the door jambs. You'll get a lot of in and out static and poor connections leading to short speaker life and poor sound. It is a lot of work running the wires to the doors but believe me it's way worth it or you may kiss those doors speakers good bye. |

Nice setup Byron & I cant say enough about the sport seat (just awesome)! BTW, you need to upgrade to polished shift knob. Prices go from $50-$75. It'll match your drilled-aluminum pedals. |

Hey everyone, I just put a new stereo into my 348. Here is a short list of what was installed: Alpine 7894 Head Unit Alpine MRV-F540 Amplifier MB Quart PSD-216 Speaker/Tweeters Custom Built, Factory Look Subwoofer with RFP3406 6" Speaker Here are a few pictures. I'll take a few better ones later and post them. The box is wrapped in black (for a factory finish) and positioned between my two seats. The amp is in my front trunk compartment. The speakers fit under the stock door panels, and the tweeters were installed onto the factory ferrari brackets under the A/C vents. It sounds great!! Lots of sound with factory look!
