Richard, I think the brake light coming on on the track has nothing to do with tire diameter. My own experience is that the brake fluid level sensor is prone to trigger the light during a track session (high G's) and stay on until you restart the car. In both instances I experienced, the problem vanished off the track or when the fluid was topped up. |

The theoretical diameters of the stock tires are 25.6" and 26.7" respectively. The Kumho's you are running are considerably smaller and might lead to a false "revolutions per mile" reading by the ABS sensors. If the same sensors are used to transmit data to the ASR (very likely), this would trigger the ASR prematurely. |

Brian, A few weeks ago I was doing a track day at Moroso here in Florida with my 360 and after about 10 minutes into each session my brake warning light would come on. I pulled into the pits, shut off the engine and restarted the car. The light would then go out. My mechanic told me later that because some tires heated up more than others the diameters were no longer the same thus tripping the ASR sensor. My ASR light never went on, just the brake warning light. This may be your problem. My mechanic in Indy, Brian Stewart is on this forum and if he sees your post he can respond to it better than I. I wish 24" wide tires fit... ;^) those are diameters. 225/40 in front and 285/30 in back. Visually, they look the same size... but the rears are slightly less tall in the Kumho V700. In the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, same spec sizes, the diameters are the same front and rear, and in both cases taller than either of the Kumhos.

Has anyone experienced the ASR kicking on due to a tire change? I just put Kumho ECSTA V700's on my 360. The fronts are 24.9" and the rears 24.6". That appears to be confusing the ASR. |
