Robert,

Even less. You can get a March delivery your-spec Euro for 145 (spider, mind you), or an '01 6sp with 1500m for 130.

WHat bothers me is why spend 550 money for a 360?

It does pay, You can get a Euro for 170 delivered to your door with less than 300 miles on the ticker. It is the same car. The question is why would you want to be upside down in a car. This is why the F cars do not get driven. People buy above MSRP so they try to protect their investment. I say buy what you will drive.

there are two f-dealers which you can buy 01 with 1K miles for about $200K. why would you want to pay $185 for a euro. just does not pay.

If ferrari can make 50k more per car in the US you would think they would send more here. It probably wouldn't hurt anything by adding to the market, except the euro import market. I didn't relize they were that much cheaper new in europe.

If the 420 coupe looks pretty much like the 360, I personally would keep the spider. Can't beat the top down on a nice day!
They make 20% more spiders than coupes? I thought it would be the other way around.

Yes, but how long is it going to last at the current bid price? I bet it'll reach close to 200K

It's not like it's bargain season for 360 spiders. Those asking prices are still above MSRP.

There's a Euro 360 spider with about 300 miles on it for about $170k.

Prices have DEFINITELY dropped within the past year or so.

Spiders trade at $ 220-$230K right now.
I know of a recent sale with lots of equipment for $ 230K, so a bare Spider will go for $ 220K.

No, no time frame. I'm expecting, or better yet hoping that 2003 is the last year for the 360. This would mean that the 360 had been in production for 5 years which seems to be the norm for Ferrari. Plus all the rumors of a 360 Stradale and Barchetta seem to point to the end of the 360 run.

I'm sure by the time I receive the 420 coupe, the drop in spider prices and the rising cost of the 420 coupe, the two prices will be very close. I have to keep in mind that the dealers will control the prices in their favor. But heck, if I get all my money back on the spider I just drove a great car for free (not counting gas, insurance etc)
Jake
I'm sure someone can come up with the correct numbers but when the entire production run of the 360 coupe/spider is done the ratio will be 60% spiders and 40% coupes. I believe this has been the normal ratio in the past.

So Jeff, does this mean your dealer will actually give you cash back with your new 420 coupe for your spider? At 220 though, you are still way ahead of msrp. Sounds good for you if you would rather have a 420 than your spider.

There will probably still be the five to one ratio of 420 spiders to 420 coupes sold by most , if not all , dealers. So I think the majority will still hang in there and bide their time; waiting for "their" spider.

Oops, I guess Jeff is right, and that the spider comes one year later (2004?). That will mess up my plan

The Spider prices have dropped but have remained steady around $220K. This would be for a 2002 model. This is the numnber my dealer gave me for my car. I will be trading my car in for the 420 and my dealer said I will not lose any money on my 2002 Spider. The coupe is barely staying above list.

When the 420 comes out it's the 360 coupe that suffers on price. The reason for this is that the 420 Spider won't start production until after the coupe has been out for a year. This has been Ferrari's routine for new models. Spiders on the resale market become hard to get. Coupe owners love coupes and will trade their old cars in for the new 420 coupe. Spider owners have a tendency to skip the coupe and wait for the new Spider. All this is according to my dealer. This is why the 355 Spider kept a high resale.

My personal situation is that I will trade my Spider in on the 420 coupe because I know I will be getting the 420 Spider later. I don't "flip" cars. I just return the car to the dealer and he is happy to sell me the next one.

I have a spider on order and am # 40 in line now (started as # 94 at WWoC). However, I do not want the 360 anymore and I am working to become an early 420 customer.

240K is 70K OVER sticker, this never happened to the 355. IMO there is no more room OVER sticker

Asking prices are down in some areas of the US. However (and this is the most important thing), SELLING prices are way down.

355 spiders didn't drop when the 360 spider first came out and doubt that when the 420 comes out it will have much effect on the 360's because the supply will be so low, most people won't want to wait out the years it will take to buy one at a reasonable price.

Why would you buy a 360 for anything over sticker right now. It is bound to drop off very quickly very soon with the arrival of the 420.

If you can buy a US 360 Spider for $200-210,000 do it! However, I doubt you would be able to do so.

It is true they are no longer selling for $270,000 but most are still priced around $240,000.

"asking" prices for 360 spiders have come down from the 250k level 6-9 mo ago to the 210-220k level today.I would think they actually sell for 5-10k below asking price.Just a guess.

Ive seen that trend too, but I'm mostly seeing a price drop in 360 Modenas more than anything. You cna get a good Modena for 130k now if you look in the right places! I've seen that drop from like 160k or so?

355's of all models, and early Diablos are going way down too...However I think 308s are on their way up soon :-)

It might just be me though :-)

Is it me or does it seem like 360 spiders are not breaking 200k anymore? I see the same ones advertised over and over again and they seem to never sell. Has anyone bought a used one lately and if so, what range did you find that the sellers would actually take when it came down to it? (assuming you looked at more than one)
