I spoke with a sales rep a few weeks back. The rest of the information I have in text. -1997 F310B SN (648N) The first car designers Rory Byrne and Ross Brawn inherited from John Barnard. Even though its name suggests that it is an evolution of Barnard's 1996 F310, it incorporates many new features: for example it is the first high nosed Ferrari F1 car. It was very reliable but aerodynamicaly weak. Last F1 car to use slicks and wider 78 inch wheel track. This is not the car involved in the infamous contretemps with Jacques Villenuve at Jerez in '97 that decided the driver's title. -1st Overall Monaco Grand Prix/Schumacher -1st Overall Belgian Grand Prix Spa/Schumacher -Configuration Type 75 Degree V10 -Curb Weight 1323 lbs. -Valvetrain 5-Valves 171.6 in -Displacement 182.9 cu in -Power 650.0 bhp @ 17,900 rpm -HP / Liter 216.81 bhp per litre -Gear Type 7-Speed Semi-Automatic w/Electron Sequential Actuation -Asking price $1.1MM |

Dave, what a brilliant idea! I saw the car on ebay and was wondering what it would take to retrofit it. Obviously there aren't that many F1 Ferrari engines around, but then I thought, hmm what about those 'Prost' and 'Petronas' engines? They are Ferrari indeed, but your idea of the V8 is even better, as that engine could be maintained without a whole scuderia of meccanos in the background. Somebody with enough cash on this forum should buy this thing! |

After the Sly Stalone movie "Driven" wrapped up production, two of the Reynard champcars used in the film were on ebay. They were complete chassis fitted with motorcycle engines and spring loaded sequetial hand shifters. They brought in about $45K each. Any chance you could stick a motorcycle engine in one of these mock ups? Or better yet maybe a certain 3.0 liter 8 cyl? |

This is the 1998 Formula 1 Ferrari. This is a show car which would have been used for promotional purposes much like the Williams in Ansgar's post. I think anything over $25K would be overpriced for this. A friend of mine bought a 1998 Jordan for 15K 18 months ago. It'd look nice on the wall though wouldn't it? Here's the picture from eBay:
Here's a picture of the F300 on the day it was launched:

It is an old F1 car without motor, gearbox and other "secret" things. Such cars are often used for sponsors. Here are a few pics of a BMW-Williams-F1, which was used for Veltins Pilsener promotion near my hometown.

1998 F300 F1. I guess its made of the back up parts of other cars. I wonder if it set up to be functional racer? Some of the older promo F1 cars of the late 1980's to early 90's were made of wood. |
