The three Ferraris in the picture are: 1. (background) s/n 0327AL 375 America by Vignale. This pic shows the original color scheme but the car has been painted various colors since. 2. (foreground) s/n 0476AM 375 MM by Ghia. 3. (garage) s/n 0473SA 410 Superamerica by Ghia. The pic was taken circa 1956 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the home of Robert Wilke, who owned all three cars at the time. |

Flag on the play. Surefire copyright violation by scanning and posting that photo. (But of course, they wouldn't mind the publicity.) |

Ok, this is for all you historians.... In the latest Cavallino (#132?), inside the front cover - actually on the first "page", not the inside of the cover - there is an ad for a brokerage house (I think?) with a sepia-tone photograph. Two gentlement in 50's vintage garb are lovingly polishing the car in the foreground (a 250 PF Coupe?? Something like that... I don't have the magazine in front of me). But in the background, behind the car being polished, stands another Ferrari - looks an awful lot like the 250 Europa that my Dad had. There were 3 or 4 of these bodies built by Vignale, but only one installed on a chassis with the 3 litre Lampredi engine (s/n 0313EU), the others had the 4.5 litre Lampredi engine. Can any of the historians out there identify this car?? Thanks. |
