Thanks Paul. Normally I would not consider a non-Ferrari car that had an oil leak. However, several people have told me that it is not uncommon for Ferraris to have oil leaks, especially ones not used much. I have been told that many times Ferraris stop leaking oil if used. I have heard people refer to a "typical Ferrari oil leak" - whatever that is. Earlier today a seller told me that there were no problems with his Ferrari except for a minor oil leak which is not uncommon for a Ferrari. I was not for sure how concerned I should be about this. I will check around the bellhousing and the filters. Thanks, Dave |

Dave, it depends on what is leaking. If its the o rings between the bellhousing and adapter (on a 308 for example), its a bit harder to fix then say an oil sending unit or filter adapter gasket. |

Dave, Not to put your post down but you have been on the F.C. for a while. This question on the "Leak" thing has been debated over and over of which the archives are full of I am sure. That question is so open and has so many varibles that without a professional inspection it is anybodys quess. Regards, |

On a Ferrari that has been used fairly regularily (but not a great amount), the seller reports that it has minor oil leaks. Is this normally a danger sign, or is this normal? |
