If you want a subwoofer, just install a TUBI, then you will never turn on the radio

my friend just got his 360 last week which belonged to a NBA player. He had a leather covered box behind the passenger seat. I will post pictures for your tomorrow.

I am going to have a subwoofer installed in my F355. They build a custom leather box and install it behind the break and clutch pedals where there is a lot of unused space. The sound company has done this many times, and you don't even notice it. I'm not familiar with the 360, but I thought I would share this in case it is an option. Tom

I spent a small fortune installing a system in my first F car, a 348 spider. I had talked with the guy that advertises those SST, MacIntosh-based systems, but since, at the time, he didn't come east very much, and had no dealer arrangement here, i didn't go with him. One of his tricks was placement and tuning of the woofer to sound like real music, not a boom box. After i had installed a pretty big system using Mac's 400 watt car amp, equalizer, pretty expensive speakers front and rear, and a sub, in the trunk up front (i frankly can't remember what speakers i used in that system, but something british and expensive), i had the whole thing torn out after about a month, cause frankly, it sounded like . I have long background in hi-end stuff (been using full range electrostats and tube amps from ARC since the early '70's-have had HQD system, experimented with various ribbon tweets, denuded cartridges like Lyra parnassus, still have Crosby-modified Quad 63's, etc), could never get good with car audio. Still, have a pretty big system installed in my wife's 740i, which i actually listen to, 'cause when we go on long highway trips, i get bored without it. Not so with the Ferrari, but the real trick if you are going to do it, is to hide it well. One thing i liked about the 348 is that the slot for the head unit was behind a hinged lid, so i didn't have to look at cheesy control panel for CD/preamp/tuner. Anybody ever install that high-end Sony system: i heard it free-standing, in a room, and it sounded better than most car systems in a non-car environment...? (Oh, yean, one other thing: Bob Carver, who i think less of than when he was building those early Phase Linear amps in the early 70's probably still makes this ridiculous little active woofer cube, small enough to fit in your car: only problem is, it probably draws so much juice, you'd need one of those separate electrical system/battery/capacitor systems like they have in sound show cars to support it. would probably be killer, though...)>

The subwoofer goes in the media room, the Ferrari goes in the garage, this seems like the best solution and will give the most enjoyment.

Scott, if you do go with the box behind the seat, the box must be fixed in place, either bolted or strapped down. There is a lot of movement from the voice coil, sometimes more than two inches, if the box has any movement at all the sound will be terrible....Norm

Ferraris and Sub woofers. That's it, the end. Classy Ferrari huh. But then it's their car and if they paid for it, Oh Well, but sad.......

Has anyone put a subwoofer in their 360? (Any factual content in between the "the engine is the real music" and "a Ferrari shouldn't sound like a slammed Civic" would be appreciated.) The current suggestion is to build a small, leather covered box behind the passenger seat. It would be removable for track days.
