I have a set of the aluminum and plastic caps. The aluminum ones are very light and seem less cheesier to me than the chrome plastic

FYI, www.griots.com has the same gift set for $10 cheaper than Italian Car Parts... and Griot's is never cheap on anything.

The "Key Fob Wrench" that the link below shows, I paid $9.99 for at Fishermans Wharf in San Francisco. Talk about pure profit.

The logo caps I have incorporate a rubber o-ring inside them, which seems to keep them from being tightened all the way down. For those of you who cranked them down so they take a small wrench to remove, did you take out the o-ring?

Matt,

Check with your local Mercedes Benz dealership. The valve stem covers for the 450, 380 and 560 SLs are identical to the 308 Ferrari series.

put a little self locking washer under them and tighten them with a wrench. Careful, they are made of plastic.

At least you get the kids of that steal them for fun with their hands.

I lost 2 of my 4 caps, and sure enough the two left I could not turn by hand. Now my 2 replacements are like that too. $13.00 from EBay for a set of 4 (But they say 'Lotus').

Mine were stolen over the Thanksgiving weekend, so I asked for a new set for Christmas. My mom went to the local Ferrari dealership and was told they can't get them anymore. Time to check out the local flea markets!!

The ones at Griots spin freely without the key, so they are indeed pilfer-proof. ('spose you could cut them off with dikes...) FoS is going to carry them as well, you might check with your local dealer.

Check out Griot's Garage. I think they just came out with a new version of the valve stem caps which they claim are pilfer resistant. I'm not quite sure how they work but you might one to take a look at them and keep the good ones for display only.

I carry a small wrench in my car to tighten the caps down so they can't be removed by hand. It has worked so far.

Funny, all four of mine fell off at the same time too. The plain chrome ones seem to fit better; they don't fall off.

Maybe they all fell off at the same time. The other possibility is DES got them while he was stalking you. Check his sentra.
