Paul is right.
76-77 US 308's did not have cats and do have the lid without long louvres at rear, just like Euros. This type lid was used on all Euros, including QV's.
All US cars came with wet sump and 2 distributors. 76 and early 77 Euros had dry sumps and 1 distributor. These are worth more.

We bought the car for $ 21,700
Spend $ 700 transport
Spend $ 900 for engine work
Spend $ 200 for carpet replacement

The reserve met is set at $ 25,000 if I am correct. That is what I will let the car go for. So hardly $10K profit. I wish!

For 10K profit he has to spill the beans, or at least make something up that sounds good. Maybe it just needed plugs.

The engine was idling rough, the ignition system was not properly wired and it had a vacume leak that made it sound like VW bug. Kind of embarassing. People look at you "yeah, another replika 308"

I wasn't sure if this was the same car or not. I am not sure if I saw it on Ebay or their website I just remember the car.

Yes, that car was at FCI except it was not sold for $ 19,900 (I wish) but for more and then we addressed the engine probems it had as well as some cosmetic issues.

The car is now a decent driver.

There was one forsale at FCI for $19,900 a couple of months ago that sounds a lot like this one. It was a glass car and needed a few items addressed. Is this the same car?

that makes sense.
That also means the Fiberglass cars never had the connecting louvers. Mine is one of the last Fibers imported to the US.

Since this car has ALL the emmissions equipment removed is should generate even less heat :-)
and more power :-O

Martin, an early 308 like a 76-77 didnt come with converters. Maybe they came on a california (only) car back then, I dont know. They just came with the 2 air pumps and the thermal reactor muffler, no converters. Either way, the early 308's didnt have the connecting louvers due to less heat generated without converters. Dont quote me but 78 was when the louvers changed on the 308 US bound cars.

the Fiberglass 308s came in dry for the Euro market and wet for the US market. I think even some steel 308s came in wet if I am not mistaking.

Paul,
if the lid is a non-cat lid, then that would be a EURO, right? Heck this is complicated. I can not see any conversion on the car. The plates in the doors are DOT.
Also I talked ot my mechanic and he said the car is a wet sump as far as he recalls.

All add to my lid comment: maybe a QV would have the wrap around louvers in euro, non-cat form, Im not sure about them though.

The deck is a non-cat lid Matt. No connection of the louvers unless it has cats from the factory. This applies to all 308's glass or not.

The price will actually go for UNDER the Buy-It-Now price.

I had the engine worked out from when we got the car, some other things were taken care of and the car runs strong now. Int. carpet on the rocker panel has been done.

this is my car.
It is a US for sure. The bumpers are US and the plates in the car are US delivery not conversion.

The rear deck is the same on US and Euro in the Fiberglass cars from what I have found so far.

Needs some TLC to bring it to concourse condition, According to the seller...
