The 355s have skid plates under each corner of the front end (at least mine does, and I thinks it's factory equipment). They are plastic, and have needed replacement every time with major service. May be the way I drive.

...anybody would like to fight me on that ?

Rob - nice find, I might have to invest in some of that. The pieces aren't that large 1' x 2', so it might look like a jig saw puzzle underneath. But definately worth trying out. Thanks.

Ahhh, nm, just noticed the change in sizes of the sheets.

Skid plates. You can make them yourself. McMaster Carr industrial supply. Take a piece of cardboard to make a template of the surface that rubs the ground. Drill and countersink #10-32 allen head screws to attach to your spoiler. Use nylocks and fender washers on the back to spread the load. This stuff cuts easily with a sabre saw. Have fun. Maybe a business oportunity for someone?

Skid plates are made for some Ferrari front spoilers to prevent damage. You'll see them in the rags. It is always time consuming to keep them coated with KY Jelly though.

Lambo used skateboard trucks & wheels under the front end to lift the Diablos up. I've heard the Murcielago has a hydraulic system that can raise the nose a few inches

Curbs are not my type either - I am usually drawn to the gentle curves of entrances, driveways and similar.

Any ideas on keeping my contact from these being so damaging to my ego ??

Seriously speaking - I have driven low clearance cars for years and know the proper angles to minimize damage - It's the unexpected and unavoidable that I am trying to protect against.

Any devices for diminishing the damage ??

For your front spoiler that is.

Now that you looked to see what I was talking about -

Does anyone make a "skid plate" or other type of front end protector for mounting to the bottom of a front spoiler ?? My P cars had a bolt on piece you could buy that attached to the front tie down points. It looked a little like a small ski that dragged just below the height of the spoiler. It worked great and did not decrease the curb clearance by much ( less than 1/2" )

Any ideas on getting some protection ??
