For "Ferrari-bashers" and "Ferrari-supporters" alike, the following passage is cited from Car, December 2002 Issue:-

"The bottom line is that Ferrari has been rewriting the record books. There's red ink all over the place: most podium finishes, longest run of reliability, clean sweep of the drivers' championship, a points tally in the constructors' championship which equals the score of the other teams added together ... you name it and Ferrari has done it."

"... The truth is that we are in the middle of a magnificent Ferrari era and it should be savoured."

Does it bring out the crunch line which is also the name of this thread - who cares about Lambos?

This should be in OFF TOPIC or other italians as it has nothing to do with Ferraris.

P.S. I do like hearing about Lambos

Well, after the Lambo thread, I sure have learnt a lot more about both Ferraris and Lamborghinis (as well as some of the characters that post in this forum). :-)

This is a chat forum, guys!

Just wonder how people would ever get to have a decent conversation in life, if the rule is that every phrase that is being uttered must serve a definite purpose behind it.

NO-FU*KING NONSENSE Bruce Wellington cracks me up..... :-) !!!!!
But seriously now...Lamborghinis are the only real contenders to Ferrari on the passionate supercar front... like Ferraris, some are wonderful, some are not... debate is healthy!

This thread is WAY funnier than the other one... Matt, you're the friggin' man... Your original question blazed like a wildfire throughout all of the enchanted FerrariChat forest... This is awesome... i hope i'm on this site for years and years and years so i we can talk about these three threads, like they're etched in automotive history...

Ken, I've been watching the Automotive news for years. Lambo has been trying to put together some key people. I have seen ads and have heard that they activly recruited is some cases.

I wish I knew what was going on inside the company, and what they are really doing. But they have been making a strong effort for the last two years to gear up for a new push in the U.S.

Mark, I laughed out loud about your post! If Lambo is hiring Ferrari Marketing people they're DOOMED!!!! Ferrari markets like crap! All the posts here of owners problems with FNA...only a brand like Ferrari could survive such a poor 'customer is king' understanding in what for them is not a competitive market.

So Lambo will get that attitude? That isn't going to help them any!

I really dont see what everyone is complaining about here. When you open up the general Ferrari discussion, there are tons and tons of threads. If lamborghini's dont float your boat, then dont open the lamborghini threads!
Enough is enough guys, really, this place is great. There is such a wealth of knowledge about every type of car in production, or that was in production, it absolutely blows my mind that people would get so upset about this. I remember reading before, "winning an argument on the Internet is like winning a race in the special Olympics, even though you win, you are still retarded!"
Bruce, I see your point, but many people that like ferraris also have a passion for lamborghinis!
Please dont yell at me, im just trying to make peace here! :-)

Lol Bruce. I'll try to keep my panties on even though they don't fit too well in the crotch. it just bugs me that he was trying to put all the drama on me and not the select few that were the main flamers if that's what you want to call it. I think this thread should go away also because it has been ran into the ground. I feel like we have covered it pretty good and if there is more to it I don't want to hear it.:-)

Whoa Whoa Whoa Mark!!!! Hold up one second. Just because I throw up a topic asking for some stories doesn't mean I am the bad guy here. Honestly I don't think it was a bad thread and it had some good parts. Nothing wrong with Allen defending himself and I don't see what's wrong with starting it. If you look I just asked if anyone had any stories... not which car is better. This is a forum where debates are OK last time I checked.

I agree with Allan on that... The title of the *two* threads was clear flame bait. If anything, be upset with the original poster for creating the first one, and then branching it off into a *second* one, rather than Allan for representing Lambo.

I can say that on any forum I visit, if you post something like "Want to hear stories: <incumbant> vs. <contender>" people who own the contender *will* find the thread.

That happens all the time on the Vette forum when people start asking for Viper stories. The internet is a pretty open place and people will come to argue the other side.

Lambo is gearing up for a major clash with Ferrari.

They have hired Ferrari Marketing guys in the US and are really planning to go after the 360 with the baby Lambo. I guess having VW/Audi with some big bucks behind the company, its going to breath some life into the Italian super-car rivalry. Life is going to get a bit more interesting. And both companies will benefit from the competition. I'm looking forward to it.

Exotic Italian Sports Cars interest me. People that think Ferrari can do no wrong well they interest me also. Personally I like to be open minded. I have room in my life to enjoy both.

Well as I accept this award I would like to thank a few people first....

Des,
I couldn't have done it without ya buddy. Long live the Sentra. Now get back to work:-)

Allen and Ernesto,
My main posters of the topic of all times. Most of what you guys posted had good depth and truth to it. I applaud both of you on your amazing cars. Allen just the thought of a diablo on NOS is makes me cringe. I bet it is a very nice car. Ernesto congratulations on owning your 360 and your former Supra. Everyone here know the power they are capable of and nobody doubts a single turbo Supra.

I'd also like to thank Rob for letting it run it's course but I am sure he feels it's time to move on.

Well this is it for me in this one. I am off to cook up another fire starter. Have a good night guys.......

For me its like being right handed or double jointed. I don't know why, its just how I am. I like Ferraris. Went Keyluian motors in Beverly Hills today (FOBH was closed for remodeling not a car in sight). He had a 959, BMW M1 and a Diablo GTR among other notables. Where did I end up but in the middle of the Maranello contingent. Nothing special just some 360s and 355s. It wasn't until I was walking out that noticed the brand new Mercialego's yellow paint was a textured finish. Oh well whatever.

To answer Jay's question re: the relationship between Lambo and Ferrari: Not totally sure on this, but I think I once read that Lamborghini wanted to work with Enzo, but they severly disagreed on car design and so Lambo took off being all upset etc and founded his own shop 'down' the road. Just like Ferrari upped Alfa, with the difference, that Enzo ultimately was more successful. But then again Lambo makes nicer farm traktors...

Well said, Eric (:-))...

Now, since it looks as if this whole thing is really coming to a close, i think it's inevitable that this thread(s) can be acknowledged as one helluva topic and i think we should all thank Matt for kicking up so much dust... After it's all said and done, no one here hates anyone else, we just like our opinions... But Matt did start something extremely interesting as well as entertaining, so i'd like to be the first to thank him; Thanks, Matt... :-)

I'm a Lambo lover as well. With all the Ferrari Love we have here though, I doubt we have to worry about our discussions turning all Lambo all the time.

But, in my opinion, we cannot ignore Lamborghini altogether given that they also build Italian exotic supercars. I'm sure the brand will come up now and then, and ignore long or obnoxious posts if you could care less.

I like Lambos, but I also respect those who have different opinions--but that's just what I have to say about that, so react how you will. I would have to agree with DES's post mostly though on this matter also.

I love this site very much though for what it is, and I would have to agree that it should be a discussion on Ferrari, and that's what it is mostly, so I'm not going to complain...so thats my 2 cents.

Long live F-Chat!!!

I agree with Bruce. I wont post to the Lambo thread anymore...

Talking about Lambos is cool, but not while puting down Ferrari and its owners. I think it is ridiculous that they have to come here and with insults and namecalling to try to "open our eyes" as to the "better" cars out there.

Nobody cares.

You guys crack me up.

Do you know how hard it is to keep it interesting if we don't talk about more then Ferrari from time to time?

Fchat is about people that like Ferrari, but that type of person might like other things also.... (exotics, women, business, pizza,Simpsons).

As long as it stays 80/20 it makes for a nice place to hang-out.

We all know that i think Lamborghinis are awesome and that i should really be the final authority on things like this... :-)

Seriously, Matt Lamotte just asked an innocent question and his response to this, here in this thread, pretty much sums up how this whole thing should be approached... Lamborghinis shouldn't be shunned here, but this IS a Ferrari site... On the same token, all Matt did was ask a question... it was everyone else who turned this into a satan circus...

Matt has a point, but so do the others. Really, what relation does the Bull have with Ferrari? Do any of us go to their sites? It all boils down to, who really cares about Lambo. I don't and that's why I have never opened up that page. Lambos are nice cars, don't get me wrong, it's just not my thing. Ferraris are, thats why I'm here and most other people too. Nobody really wants to hear about Lambo. This is an F-car site. I respect the opinions of others, but give me one from a subject matter that is intune with this site, not Lamborghinichat.com.

That really is the only thread where Lambos are a big issue. It is getting to be silly but as long as people keep "feeding the fire" it will never end. At least he is a owner of a Lambo and speaks from his experiences. I am not taking sides in this manner but I don't think we should run off a member due to his post about his opinions. Nobody makes you read a thread so you don't have to keep looking at it.
