I have ordered the set to test it. Hope to get it soon so I can test it on either Feb 1 in Moroso or Feb 14-15-16 in Homestead. I will let you guys know what it really does. The Homestead track will be better since that si a faster track. 4 straights with up to 110Mph speeds.

Bob, You're right, for all intents and puropses the 348 is not an aero car (downforce) other than it's basically slippery profile. Aero devices are proven to make differences at speeds as low as 40 mph, though more for drag reduction than increase grip on a production based automobile. Formula car or purpose built race car is different if the designer has complete control over shape. Depends on a number of factors, but I would not make a generalization that aero is only important above a certain high speed threshold like 100 mph. If we had more time and budget, I wanted to do a more comprehensive aero study on 348 Challenge. Spec series must pursue every small advantage for success. |

Rexrcr, I did not think the 348/360 challenge cars did much more than 120 on the short straights and certainly not much better than 140. I did not think any aero stuff really helpped these cars eventhough I have seen 348/55/60 with rear wings. Aero does not really come into play until at least 100 don't you think? |

If someone out there is serious about downforce for the track, I have designed, implimented succesful aero devices. Seriously, that front splitter will add downforce, my gues is about 70 - 110 lb of force at 120 mph. The attack angle is important, must be very close to parallel with the ground for this design to succeed. For pure asthetics, I like the front, not the rear (only 'cause I don't think it does anything even in theory.) I could see rear working if it was the trailing edge of a full belly pan under the engine/ suspension. |

Martin, Found them at www.ebay.de, right? Saw them there with exactly the same pictures. Dont like the ties though but pretty cheap. Question is whether they do any good to traction or just a instrument for optical reasons... Con saluti cordialissimi, Jens Haller |

So the one on the rear is for high speed reversing? More downforce while parking? I never thought about taking reversing into account when setting up a race car or track car, hmmm... Is the rear part of a full belly pan? |

Martin, that is very nice - I'm not exactly sure about the ties, but without them that would be pretty nice... hmm... actually, come to think of it, I don't I can afford to go any lower in the front anyways... having a difficult time as it is with my current front bumper scraping all over the place! by the way...from that angle...the 348 kind of looks like it has a wide-body kit, huh? |

Look at both pictures and tell me what you think. I am thinking about importing these babies. Made of PVC not carbon. Set somewhere at about $ 500 front and rear.
