Tino is right: Fuchs = Koenig-Specials = Cargraphic.
I would know because I recently started carrying Cargraphic Exhausts in stock to compare between all of them and there is no variation. I agree it's a good system.
Any "export versions" of the system are equivalent to a "extra-loud" systems as supplied from KS.

I saw a recent video of a carshop doing modifications to a 94 Lambo Diablo's exhaust. The original exhaust was a huge box and looked heavy. The new exhaust dwarfed in comparison and looked light weight.

With the new exhaust, the carshop claims an improvement of over 30+ hp. From the cumbersome looks of the old exhaust that was being replaced, perhaps they could be right.

I just wonder whether or not it would be the same with some Ferraris.

Craig, you got it right but I can't tell you who made it...(!)
Dave is exactly right about the effect on power. The only real testing we did with same conditions on the same dyno were on an NSX. The effect on low end torque was almost negligeable. The HP increase at high RPM was a little more significant in %.

Performance subjectively doesn't seem to be worse, but until I dyno it.... This may seem almost blasphemous but with so much horsepower and torque, I don't think I will notice any drop in performance (if there is any) unless I took it to the track. The dealer, however, did seem to think the stock exhaust was already optimal, and any change would most likely drop the numbers a little.

I think the Cargraphic cost me slightly less than the Tubi would have, but not by much. It's just that I truly preferred the sound after a friend got one for his 550, and I heard it side-by-side with another friend who has the Tubi on his 550.

As for performance: I actually think there is slightly less torque at lower revs, despite the better sound implying more power! And this makes sense, as backpressure aids low RPM torque. However, abouve 4800-5000 RPM or so, it truly seems to breathe better--i.e., rev faster to 7000 where I do most of my full-throttle shifting on the track. FYI, I run stock air filters...

"Tino, which car is that exhaust for?"

Well, let's see..... it's for a 10 cyl engine and it says Michael Schumacher..... :-)

Does the Cargraphic make any difference to performance?

There are magazine articles that suggest sports exhaust can actually decrease output.

KCCK, I just dropped my car off at the dealer again for them to complete their electrical gremlin work. Hopefully all will be resolved by next week. Will keep you posted.

Bobbafet, I'd be glad to let you hear the exhaust....as soon as my electrical issue is solved. Why don't you email me and we'll set a time.

Great piece of information, Norman.

I was about to put in a Tubi, and then I come across your post.

Thanks for sharing the experience.

P.S. What has happened to your battery drain problem?

Norman,

I'm in Hillsborough - if you've ever got a chance, I'd love to hear your exhaust. I've got a good idea of what the Tubi sounds like, and overall I do agree that the Tubi really is just loud.

The Cargraphic has a throatier rumble which doesn't resonate at low revs like the Tubi does in V-12's. I sat in a Tubi'd 550 and at idle the drone was really irritating to me. I was at F of San Francisco this morning for a FCA tech meeting, and one of the technicians said he preferred my exhaust over the Tubi for the same reason I just mentioned. I agree with Dave about the snarl. My driving enjoyment has increased tenfold! I've been driving with the windows down! I don't know if the Cargraphic is cheaper than a Tubi because I was never interested enough to ask. BTW, Dave Maranelloman, you were the one who got me interested in this exhaust because of your posting several months ago!!

Norm, I also love the Cargraphic exhaust on my 550 as well!

Dan, in my comparisons, the Tubi is just LOUD...and it really drones at lower RPM's, IMO (although Tubi's sound great on the V-8 cars, also IMO), whereas the Cargraphic rumbles at idle, but is not that loud inside the car, and as it is revved up, it really has that snarl like the old Daytonas. The Tubi is just loud...

Could you post your impressions against the Tubi exhaust in more detail?

The exhaust looks sharp, but I have yet to hear it.

THanks,

I just got the new Cargraphic exhaust installed on my 550. Wonderful throaty sound. Sounds better than a Tubi, in my opinion. Great quality finish. Lighter than stock. Larger diameter pipes. This is what the 550 is supposed to sound like!!! I still can't get the grin off my face!
