There were better pictures of the wreck on other news sites in this area. The airbags did indeed deploy, they were visible in the pictures. The friend claimed he was cut off and their was one report that the car was leased. Oh yeah, and that he had only taken delivery of the car in October or November.

D B, death is inevitable... As Franklin said, "There are only two certainies in life... death & taxes...!"

In no way would i ever make light of the demise of another (unless of course that person DEServed to die- and some people DO DEServe to die. i'm with you on that, Dave)... When i said what you quoted, i was making a joke, i'd rather see a totalled Ferrari any day, than have to see another person in this world die... However, looking at a wrecked automobile IS hard to stomach (ANY automobile)... i have such a deep appreciation for automobiles (which is not readily perceivable when in direct comparison to how i drive my car :-)), but looking at pictures of dead, mutilated people doesn't have too much of an effect on me... Looking at a wrecked exotic does...

Speaking as someone who had a friend total my Ferrari - the cars are easier to replace than the people.

I'm with you DES, cars don't deserve this but there are numerous real bad b@st@rds in this world that probably do.

If you are looking for a pacifist don't look near here anytime soon.

"The decapitations & crushed skulls at rotten.com were a lot easier for me to handle..."

DES, enthusiasm is one thing, but to say something like that is just wrong. Saying that seeing pictures of someone's death is easier than looking at pictures of crashed Ferrari's...I don't know what to say.

Doc, that's just wrong... i already have nightmares, without having to traumatize myself with horrid depictions such as these...

The decapitations & crushed skulls at rotten.com were a lot easier for me to handle... i need to go cry now... i'll be back, shortly, when i'm able to compose myself in such a manner that i won't break down in tears at the sight of ANY 360...

I'm not sure you can conclude anything about the car's "strength", or that the crash was particularly severe, since one cannot see any deployed airbags. The all-fire threshhold for this car is probably 15-18 mph delta-V. The photos posted by NBC10 are not definitive concerning the airbags, but I would expect to see some white fabric through the passenger door window if deployment had occurred. If no bags deployed, the collision was more a glancing impact than a frontal impact. This is also consistent with the type of vehicle trajectory one might expect on a controlled access roadway bordered by a wall. However, with the damage that can be discerned in the relatively poor night photographs, I would not be surprised to learn that the airbags had indeed deployed.

Hopefully he can focus for their game next weekend. The dude was probably racing and crashed, rather than "being cut off".. Don't think he will have any trouble picking up a new one. Ah...

The car is crunched and no one hurt. Says a lot about the car's strength.

Go to www.nbc10.com
A friend was driving Bobby Taylor's 2002 Spider and totaled the car. There are pictures and video on the web site
