Willis--- Elsewhere today, I read that "only" 100 Stradales are to be produced (?). Another site has the 420 listed as being introduced in Sept 2003(?). There's too much dis-information floating about ! I myself am wondering is Ferrari going to wait another two years to strike back at the Gallardo's attempt to capture some of Ferrari's thunder and sales ??

Check out the article at www.autoweek.com. Apparently, it's not a limited model but a third 360 variation.

Try to zoom above the driver's seat and you'll see the black rollbar, you can even see where the leather covered part starts....... maybe!

This Stradale is probabbly the cl9osest you can get to an Enzo driving feeling.
Imagine that the Stradale has almost the same waight to hp ratio of an F40.
F40: 2.52kgxhp
Stradale: 2.809kgxhp
Lambo murcielago: 2.844 kgxhp
viper: 3.066 kgxhp
vanquish: 4.044 Kgxhp
gt2: 3.12 kgxhp
UNbelieveble!!!
I really hope the price is going to be buyeble, I'd trade my 360 , my wife's car my doughter bike, PL2 , all the toys for one of this.

I believe alcantara will be std, leather being optional.
The roll bar is there, if you look close enough you even see it in the press release pic.

how about the dash ( cruscotto) , will it be alcantara , cloth or leather? from the picture I see it mate , and not shiny as leather would look. I talked to a seller in motorferrari( modena) and he confirmed me that he saw the car personally and he confirmed 20 hp 100 kg less, no reverse little shift, loud exost, and a lot of carbon fiber, no rollbar, big extinguisher, and the rest is all you guys already know. to see more pics he told me to wait until march 6 .

Ernesto, official specs and options are not out yet, so I haven't specced out the car at this time.
Power increase will probably be due to engine management and exhaust mods, I really have no clue other than that at this moment...

Luigi, please post pics of your car as soon as you get it. What color did you order it? Do you know what mods increase the power?

Went to Boston for a three day business trip, Milano felt like Miami in comparison! Too cold...
Anyway, I too am thinking about going to Geneva for the show, lets try and go there the same day.

Luigi, there you are... were you travelling? I agree about the looks - a very purposeful and sculptured front without the appearance of bolted add-ons. I envy you getting your hands on one of the first ones! By the way will you be going to the Geneva Motor Show? - I'm thinking of going.

First of all: I'm not getting it with these stripes, that's for sure...

To me it looks fantastic: it looks so low and mean, with an aggressive but well integrated front spoiler and sideskirts, and a butt that I think will be one of the most beautiful ever.

As I already new, this one is basically a race car, with the possibility to travel on the road and not vice versa: look at the carbonfibre side mirrors, and think that the doors are made of the same material!(like most of the interior...)

The wheels are not the Challenge ones, although similar, they are the original FIA-GT one's, made of magnesium. The tyres are bigger too and are track oriented ones made just for the Stradale...

As far as brakes, you can see that this one in the pic already has the carbon ones.

Suspension is totally new and uncompromising.

To put this car's potential in prespective on e number is sufficient:
2,809 kg/hp !!!!!!!!!

As a comparison the GT2 is:
3,12 kg/hp

Unbelievable!

Those do not appear to be the sports seats that are optional on the 360M. I have the sports seats, and the ones on the Stradale look much more aggressive, racing seats whereas the ones on the 360M are simply sporty seats.

Anthony, those look like the kinds of sports seats and belt harnesses that are optional on the 360 Modena - I used them driving someone else's car pretty hard on a track and, believe me, the sports seats were handy especially for side support.

Electric windows are supposed to be optional so presumably they are glass. I would be surprised if Ferrari made a model that couldn't be sold in the US, by far it's largest market, wouldn't that be strange?!

Don't you think it looks a bit like a car that's been given to some 18 year old who's bought everything he could from the parts shop?
I'd feel pretty silly driving this on the street. I saw a VW today with similar seats and harness. Isn't it all a bit sad? Why would someone want to have a harness instead of a regular seatbelt?

Amar
I have the same question as Manu, will it come to the United States? The original description of the car said the side and rear windows are made of plastic. Plastic windows will not pass U.S. standards.

Manu, I have no idea about US sales, any reason why they would not sell it in the US? They will do RHD for the UK etc by the autumn/winter. I think the Stradale looks great, and those do look like carbon breaks.

Without the stripes , it would look good. A 360 Challenge looks better though. Any confirmation about it having Carbon-Ceramic brakes ?

The 360 Challenge Stradale just got announced on Ferrari sites (www.owners.ferrari.com, www.ferrariworld.com) with a photo that shows a modified, more aggressive, lower front and a bigger rear lip like the 575M:

http://www.ferrariworld.com/cmc_upload/1/610/850/930/Challenge_Stradale_490.jpg

Here is their description:

"The Challenge Stradale derives from the latest interpretation of the pure Ferrari tradition of making road cars directly derived from the race cars. With the Challenge Stradale the racing expertise comes from the Ferrari Challenge International Championships and the FIA GT races, where the 360 Challenge and 360 GT models are top protagonists, both in Europe and in the United States.

"The strong links of the Challenge Stradale road car to racing are underlined by a significant weight reduction, obtained also through a sporty set up and additional aerodynamic contents, enhanced braking performance and F1-style gearbox.

"The engine is the 3,586cc V8, with five valves per cylinder and titanium conrods, which secured a worldwide success to the 360 Modena and the 360 Spider. The all aluminium body and chassis are the ones designed and produced by Ferrari for the 360 Modena.

"The colour of the car on the Ferrari stand in Geneva will be the new 'Rosso Scuderia', the same red of the Formula 1 cars, with decorations recalling Ferraris used in customer races of the past."

All the dealers know... they're not saying anything - it just adds to the mystique.
Luigi is referring to the cute little aero lip on the rear of the 550M....(which I love)

I eared is coming official on the Geneva Motor Show ( starting March 6), but has anybody got some data on the car? I read a guy Luigi writing about a duck tail, as the 550. Never saw a duck tail on a 550....The dealer in Italy does not say a word, Do you think they don't know or they just do not want to say...
