According to Rob's clues (been here since the beginning, around 70 posts, nice collection of cars, stopped posting around the time FKing appeared), the possible suspects are available in the "Member List" section... I don't want to post any names, but there are two or three users that certainly fit the description...

After reading Rob's few hints, I'm reasonably sure I know who King is. If I'm right, he DOES have a nice collection of cars, and he has been a contributor here longer than most of the people on this board. Martin, you HAVE met him.

I'm curious what drove him to his new persona.

I was afraid that this would happen if everyone knew I knew who it was. Don't worry, it's not a common poster. He's been around along time, but maybe only 60-70 posts total, you wouldn't recognize his name. I think he'll behave now.

Gentlemen:

Everytime I see a thread such as this one, I simply go out into my garage, the dedicated garage for the one and only "KING", my 308 Gtsi, and all the problems in the world once again disappear. I suggest all of you who are upset by this post do the same, go look at your OWN F-car and feel better. Now do it right away. I'm telling you, it works better than excedrin.

Ferrari King is a new user account and was started about the same time the user stopped using the one by his real name. This user has been around since almost the begining. All the posts under his real name are decent, no hitler photos or insults to FerrariChat.com. Back then his pet peeve was The FerrariList, I guess that got old so it's now us.

Looking at King's postings, starting right from his very first entry, I do not think that our fellow Ferrarichatters have been unduly harsh in their response. King has initiated the provocation himself. No one forced him into that attitude.

King claims that he has got a few "advanced degrees". But even so, that is no big deal. No big deal at all. This is a vast big world, and all kinds of people exist, many of whom might just happen to be visiting this forum.

King's writing is not exactly that educated as would tally with his boastings. In fairness to King, though, on the whole, he is reasoanbly articulate, which shows that he should have had some meaningful education.

For my part, I would have no objection to giving King a fresh chance to start all over again. But may be he is not the type of person who will take a handshake from anybody. I do not know.

Dear "Ferrari King",

I don't know who rubbed you the wrong way, but I'm going to appologize for it. Relax bro and enjoy life. I know what you are doing because I used to do the same thing. If they wanna get mad over something stupid, then lets really give them something to be ticked off at. I did it all the time. Then I would make a game out of it, just because I thought it was funny to see them get all twisted out of shape over nothing. But that didn't help the situation. I wanted them to see that somethings just weren't that big a deal. So instead of getting them all flustered, I started just staying calm. Then after a while they started to stay calm. What I'm getting at is lead by example. You seem to be a smart person, so don't let the little things bug you so much.

Welcome to FerrariChat

I don't mind people stirring the pot IF they do it in a creative or entertaining way. So far the king has been neither. The worst thing you can say about anyone is that they're boring. So far the king has been just that. I don't consider the fact he generates a lot of response as having any significant entertainment value.

If he has some interesting cars as Rob has said, then it would be nice if he talked about them. I've been interested in the TVR and he claims to have owned one; and hated it. If he wants to be negative, he might tell us about that. Or anything that's not just a personal attack on individuals.

So far king underwhelms me.

Matt, I agree a little, but posting a picture of Hitler and a negative generalization of all or most FerrariChat.com users rubs me personally. I think FC deserves a positive generalization of most users and the exception this month would be the king himself. I think it's just part of his personality, that's why it doesn't bother me quite as much. 6 months ago this user under his own name was making the same comment about The Ferrari List and how much better FerrariChat.com was. I've also seen the same personality traits shown at the other boards he visits.

He's bright, he has a collection of some great cars, and for some reason he's a hobby internet rager hiding behind a once anonymous vail.

Tim,

I am NOT taking sides, BUT, Given the welcome he has been given here, justified or not, How would you react in the same situation? Look at what he has been called since thread #1. Look at this from a different angle. Sure a line was crossed, but then we, as a collective group, crossed it right back. Something to think about.

Guys,

I think you all know I am the first to flame away, but I have been silent in this thread for a reason. I believe that "ferrariking" has a really sarcastic humor that does not come across in the chat. I have read almost all of his posts and if you read between the lines, they are actually quite funny. In the past few months there has been a "get this guy" mentality. I have played into it as well. He has just given back what was given to him in the first place. Time we move on and get back to the cars.

My .02 cents.

LOL, 1944...? Dude, that's like- almost 900 years after what i said...! Your "B school reference treatise" is crap, dude, sorry... & as i stated, i didn't learn it in school- they didn't teach it there, either...

& you're right, my intention turned out to be crap, too, which is fine... IF hell will take me when i die, i'll gladly go... Until then, i'm here and you and all your silly degrees can't change that... :-)

Lastly, i do recall asking you to drop this, TWICE... My initial intention WAS good... Apparently, you have none, what so ever.

Post your answers Jere. I have a forty year collection of Yurropean car periodicals and literature in my library that probably contains all of the answers. I would research them if I cared. I don't. So I won't. I certainly wouldn't bother memorizing any of it either as that is what literature research is for.

As said earlier, I do not profess to be a Ferrari expert nor do I care to be one. I know enough about the subject to be knowledgable for my needs but hardly expert. Hence my quietness here over the life of the board. Someone's cousin's middle son's name means nothing to me and will continue to mean nothing to me. If it means something to someone great. Good for them. It has no bearing on why I have an interest in, in this case, Ferraris.

Also said earlier, my choice of screen name was a joke (a parody really, reflecting some of the personalities who entertain themselves THINKING they are Ferrari or auto experts (the legend in their own mind syndrome - it may work on bimbos but not with the truly knowledgable or even semi-knowledgable like me boys)). Deal with the name. If it bothers you take some valium. Make yourself the GrandFerrariPoobah if you want and if it makes you feel better so be it. The King won't be offended.

This thread likewise was my idea of a double edged sword joke that pulled out the best of the best among you. You really cannot help yourselves in proving that you are King of the Hill, belittleing others and you know more than so and so and Lambos suck and you hate P-cars (even though you have only a poster of one) and bald is ugly and you are a jerk off and you sell crack, ad freaking nauseum.

I agree that gas stations are great places to stop. Regardless of what I am driving or being driven in I always try to take a nice piss when we stop and nothing is better than a nice piss. One of the true pleasures of life don't you agree? Not even a car which has become your identity is better than piss. Imagine that. LOL. Funny, I owned a TVR Vixen 2500M and if my memory serves me no one stared at it except when it didn't run along the roadside. One of the ugliest cars ever made and junk too. My opinion of course. If you love them, great again. The shift lever by my shoulder blade was the start of ergonometric engineering I belive. It was previously mounted on the firewall as on Zastavas I have driven. The colorized body panels for lack of a better term were a neat idea though. Wait, doesn't FIAT make/made Zastavas?

For whoever mentioned 9/11. You are very correct on your post. Your listed items are what matters in life. Unfortunately I have seen many of those things you have mentioned and I prefer not to see them again in my lifetime. I am lucky enough to be able to donate to attempt to help (mostly cash to medical foundations but time when I can with underprivileged kids). On 9/11/01 I was at Sloan Kettering Hospital for Special Surgery since you asked. The rest is private, sorry. I will die with no regrets and I am prepared to do so at any time.

What do I excel in? Many things I suppose based upon the appropriate measure of success and failure. Some descriptive terms of things that I happen excel in are intrathecal, nuclear fission, chemical physics, merger/acq, vulture capitalist, parenting, futurism, reading, traveling, politics, exploitation, trophy - I must stop - I really need to piss and you all know how great taking a piss is!!

DES, you started a post with "my intention was to". Well, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions". That is from a B school reference treatise (1944 first edition) but it applies philosophically to life in general and not just economics. Intentions are worthless, follow through is what counts. As you noticed, you intention was worthless - you did not follow through. Give it a try. Good luck to you.

Now I really have to piss!!!

King

Have a wonderful day and Forza Ferrari.

No Jere, you can't do that! Give King Kong some time to sort your questions out. If you don't hear from him by then, by all means, pls post the answers. Especially #3 has me going as a 308 guy.

Posting these questions without answers is cruel and unusual punishment

Why does it when someone is causing a problem or whatever there being a jerk or there opinions seem wrong someone chimes in that they can see this person being a bald fat man... now im not fat but i am bald. not by choice but jeez is bald that ugly that its the stereo type for every ugly idiot jerk who has an opinion on something that other people dont agree with.. just wondering.. its a derogatory comment, and hey all bald guys arent that bad or ugly!

Because of his use of his username is exactly why I presented those questions. If one is to present themselves as he does, (even though he did admit he is not a Ferrari expert), I believe you should be able to back up the way you present yourself. Yes, I know the answers and many more but I do not represent myself as "all knowing". There are many, many questions I do not have an answer to and will readily listen to someone who is indeed an expert in their field.

Perhaps Mr. King would like to tell us the field in which he excells. With the number of highly educated individuals on this list, I am sure there are several who could ask him questions within his own chosen field that he probably could not answer.

I will retire back to reading the posts as before. Best of the new year to all of you.

Jere, not to take Burger King's side, but I consider(ed) myself a big F fan, but have no clue in regards to your question. But then again I don't call myself King...
If I'd spend all weekend with my f books I might be able to answer some, but these are though man. And in all fairness he said he wasn't a F expert. Why then that login name? Beats me.

I am awaiting the answers to the questions I presented to you. Are you avoiding me or still seeking the answers. Inquiring minds want to know. Perhaps a Google search will help you.. But, probably not.....

Again, best regards to you.

Waterford? i'm not too far away from there. i could pay "king" a visit. I have a pretty good idea of who king is and where he came from (two places in mind). His eagerness to burn me at the steak gives me a hint.

Rob, why not just ban his IP?

If he owns a company, it must be going down the tubes from a distrated owner spending too much time pissing off Ferrari enthusists as well as his customers. I imagine he deals as badly with them as he does with us.

Mr. King,

I have been watching this site for some time now and never felt the need to post. If you are indeed the Ferrari King you say you are, perhaps you can answer some questions that I could use answers to.
1. What is the name of the son of Pietro Ferrari?
2.In what place in class did the Ferrari 333SP that placed highest in the 1998 LeMans finish and who were the drivers?
3. Besides being a V6, what is the main design difference in the Dino 206 and 246GT to the V8 design of the 308 and 328GTS models?
4. What was the vin. no. range of the 365 GTC and the 365 GTS models-beginning and ending?
5.In the electronic dashboard of the F50, how many bit computer controls it and how many input and output elements does it contain?

Perhaps you could lend some credence to your postings by contributing something that perhaps some on this forum can use. I would just like to know the answers.

Regards to you sir,

So, um, King, if i was wrong, why don't you go ahead and enlighten us all... Hmmm...? :-)

Also, i never posted any photos of my model cars- if i did, it would've been a new thread, entirely...

i'm working on a girlfriend, but thanks for the advice... My tastes are geared more towards older women, though, so maybe you could post your mother's email address...?

Also, i'm aware of my potential- it's YOU who needs to be aware of my potential... Be careful... :-)

If you were consciously able to have a conversation with Tim, i think you'd find that he's quite intelligent... & you should really learn to read- go visit Bruce's website once more and you'll see that you're wrong, again... Lastly, Chris DOES have a Bat Mobile, i've seen it...! Nah nah na-nah naaaaah...!

To me the best thing about owning a Ferrari, a Jag and a TVR is pulling into the gas station and having all the losers look at me. I feel feel great and superior to all the losers out there who don't have crap and never will. Usually I go to full service because I don't want people to see me filling up the tank, that is a task for losers. I always make sure they see my Rolex watch and the gold cavalino chain I wear when I'm in the Ferrari, the leaping cat when I'm in the Jag or the TVR logo when I'm in the TVR. It is just a totally awesome feeling. I'm proud of the fact that I have stuff others only dream about, if that makes me a bad person who cares about those losers anyway.

Chips? Personally, I prefer biscotti.

I was wondering what King does for a living, assuming he's not still in school which seems doubtful. He obviously can't have a job interacting with the public as his rude attitude has attested. He doesn't write well enough to be an author. He is at a computer all day so it's some kind of desk job.

Hmmm...can't be a computer geek because they make big bucks and he obviously is quite jealous of all the Ferrari owners in here; he must not be making very much money. Plus his thoughts are not organized enough to be a programmer. Maybe he tests for bugs and lets the talented people fix them?

Perhaps he's a gofer for some executive? Secretly thinking HE should be the boss? I wouldn't be surprised if he is in some support capacity for the talent in his company.

So, I put it to we, the Semi-Washed Masses: what do you think his job is?

To be fair, I trade cash and futures lumber and building products.

Wrongo DES. Sorry your search engine let you down and you resorted to the baffle with bullshit routine. Doesn't fly here. Search under economics next time. Also, thanks for the photo of your model cars - that was a great waster of MBs and time and we were all enlightened by it. Try getting a girlfriend, boyfriend, dog, dead chicken or whatever and start some interaction with mammals outside of Kansas Toto. I wish you self actualization someday DES. You mean well but it just doesn't carry.

TimN - sorry you are dyslexic and your age is really 12. It is a tough disease and I wish you all the best. Perhaps that is where your anger is rooted. Spend more time studying and less flapping your gums and hating the world for your drawn lot in it and you might get a better GPA. However, with your mouth I can't imagine any employer wanting you around. Better be self employed or partner with DES. Next time try to spell correctly - D O U C H E - and please specify the flavor. Strawberry fields, classic vinegar, lavender lace, etc. In your theoretical five years you will be where you are now - just a big mouth - the kind of person people just love to hate. I would wish you the same as DES but your mouth obliterates any reason why you'd deserve it.

Bruce - you inherited your father's business correct? That is why you are able to be a "TR MAN" today right? He worked hard, you just took it over and now you are spokesperson for hardworkers everywhere? HAH. Thin smokescreen. The American Success Story? I think not.

Soup Nazi - keep posting about VINs. No relevance. Oh yeah, you just said you did not pay attention in class. Forgot that for a moment. Hmmm, your one comment there does lead to a threat does it not? Thank you for that.

And to whoever said the best part of owning a Ferrari is pulling into a gas a station and having people gawk - what else needs said if that is what fulfills you. Save the world.

WHAT A GREAT MORNING! WHAT A GREAT LIFE!

HAVE A GREAT DAY ONE AND ALL!

King

I also think SOME of us need to go on more dates (Like I did tonight with real girl).

King, your opinion of me mean nothing. to me you are nothing, a no one. your life is of no cosequence to me. frankly, i could care less what you say about me as it just rolls off my back. Where will i be in 5 years if i let criticism from a pieces of dirt (ie. you) get to me? I dont have a superior attitude or anything, i just am not gonna let someone else tell ME what to think of myself. I may not have numerous degrees, fancy cars, or money, but i already know i have a better character than you, and that is all that matters. I see you those degrees are paying off. i cant wait to graduatre wil alot of them so i can go on chat boards and do stuff like this.
DES- with a 3.8 its wierd that you dropped out. ITs been tough for me to get a 3.7, but gradutaing on the deans list is a goal i have. ITs hard to do all my school work when i have a year-round varsity sport, school work and a soical life to balence. lately ive been letting the school work and social life slip in order to be the best i can be. I also could not have said it better when you said that you were not impressed by the cars people have, but how they act. King, if you werent such an ignorant fool you would know that i feel that way too. cars are cars, nothing more.
oh, didnt i tell you not to argue with me before? theres no point, odds are i am smarter than you, lol

Sigh... i hate myself for doing this... i know i said i wouldn't respond... but i'm such a sucker... oh, well...

King, the phrase "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" is believed to be coined by Samuel Johnson, however his exact words were "Hell is paved with good intentions"...
Also, in 1670, John Ray cited "Hell is paved with good intentions" as a proverb- this was before Samuel Johnson... Finally, before either Johnson or Ray, Saint Bernard of Clairvaux is accredited to saying "Hell is full of good intentions or desires"- from which, Johnson & Ray are presumed to have quoted. No one is sure where the word 'road' came into play, though...
i didn't learn that in school, either, but this should be sufficient in shutting you up (oh, my gosh, DES does have a brain...!)
Now please- drop it.

Answer to thread query: Not all but most have chips - witness your responses over many threads. Congratulations, be proud of your antics, name calling and knowing it all. You get an "A".

Jerry - I think Your Royal Ferrari Highness is open. Go for it. No reason why you shouldn't. Take my throne. LOL.

Bruce - Read before speaking. It says "one way" meaning there are other ways and of course many other way. We all make choices.

DES - who are you trying to convince and of what? You don't want to respond, don't. The hell if anyone cares.

TimN - you have been sarcastic static on here for ages. Go back and review what came out of your mouth historically. Ironic in the pot calling the kettle black.

Horsefly - I've been more than flamed by kiddies in my life and I still go on. I do enjoy your mechanical knowledge. Keep your open-mindedness that is in short supply around here at times. Care to build me a 1000 bhp 308 Arlie? I hear it is no problem to do so. Hmmm, maybe a top fuel 308 to run against Force.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!! I PRAY TO G_D YOU DO NOT FIND THE OTHER FERRARI SITES AND JUST STAY ISOLATED HERE.

King. The intentions of my last post were to end this. i guess you either didn't see that or don't feel like ending it. i should be more mature and listen to those who say that merely acknowledging you is feeding your fire, but sometimes, i go against the better judgment.

i've worked for commission, before- commission only, in fact and had more days than not where i went home without a dime. However, if someone had a question regarding the product i was soliciting and i knew (or sensed) that this individual was not going to buy, i still spoke with that person and gave them my time. i value human kind more than the almighty dollar.

You're right, this ISN'T Kansas- this is FerrariChat. As far as the real world goes, i've made it "in it", several times over. i've experienced more aspects of life than people twice my age. i've learned more from life than any other source of education and although i've not yet "traveled the world" or "driven a true exotic", i've done things and been places most people couldn't fathom. A time and a place for everything is right, and YOUR time at THIS place is wasteful- & i believe i've 'utilized' more than a modicum of 'discretion' in swallowing your spewage here.

It's not your confidence that piques me, rather it's your arrogance (and it IS arrogance) that i find rather appalling; you say your "confidence" only shows in areas which you expert, but that Ferrari is not one of them- why is it then that one of your very first posts was accusing this site of being a junior high school auto tech class or whatever it is you referred to it as...? The fact that you've been 'in and out' of many of the cars i like, plus some i don't even know of, doesn't impress me; Chris Parr and Tim G don't impress me 'cause they own F40s- they impress me 'cause they don't talk down to me, just 'cause i DON'T own one and they have no problem answering any questions i may have. In fact, the majority of the people here are like, which is why i like it here and not other forums where the real "self proclaimed experts and Ferrari Prima Donnas" post.

As far as degrees are concerned, i started studying for one when i was 11. By 15, i knew more than most counselors and social workers at school. When college came, i realized i didn't want to deal with the hassle involved in obtaining one, so i dropped out and decided to pursue my employment obligation with a more serious vigor. College was a joke to me, so i didn't take it seriously; by the time i dropped out, my GPA dropped to a staggering 3.8.

In conclusion, this will be my last post in this thread, regarding this inane discussion. i've no DESire to continue this mindless, brazen display of idiocy. Again, i'll say good day, Mr. King.

I feel very bad that Paul considers my postings garbage. So bad in fact, that I may have to walk home tonight, head hung low, hands in pockets, shuffling my feet and kicking a vintage oil can along the dark lonely road as I go with no Ferrari in sight to give me a ride. But I will fear not because the spirit of the lone hot rodder is with me. Woe is me.

(The lone hot rodder is the guy you always hear way off in the distance on a summer night but never actually see, running his engine through the gears as he heads off into the night.)

King, I have gone to miller motorcars many times to look at the cars. When there are no customers they are more than happy to show me the new cars and anything special that they may have in the back room or in the shop. last time i was there, they showed me an F50 in back. They know i;m not a buyer, but that doesnt mean thtat i wont buy one from them in the future. when a customer comes in,they excuse themselves to go off and help the customer.
I also find it ironic that you say fchat has alot of noise and clutte, seeing how you are the cause of it. how long will it take you to get the hint. i speak for all of us when i say we do not want you, or your kind here. I suggest not bothering to aruge with me because i am most likely smarter than you, so you will lose anyway. I vote that we ban this guy and his ip if its static.

Actually DES there are quite a few very valuable car oriented sites out there without children to weed through. It is great to read an intellectual discussion about engine technology from those who have the ability to conduct such (I do not). But to have 2/3's of the thread be nonsense contributions from others who add no value is crap.

As far as Champion, you may feel a little differently about stroking a saleperson if you were one yourself and it was your commission that your peer walked off with while you were babysitting daydreamers. It is a business, not a museum or gallery. Admire from afar but don't touch the paintings please. Let us calculate: for the sake of simplicity: sales price of Spider: 235K, bought it for 195K (lots of miles on that one I believe). GP - 40k, YOUR or YOUR PEER'S commission at 35%: $14,000. How would you feel then? That is a downpayment on a decent 328 by the way. Feel better knowing your buddy got it instead of you? Didn't think so.

This ain't Kansas. This is the real world. You won't make it unless you realize that soon. There is a time and place for everything. Utilize discretion.

Not sure why my arrogance (I like confidence better) is your problem. It really only shows in areas in which I am expert and Ferrari is not one of those areas. I've been in and out of many of them and probably many of those other cars you like as well as many you have never heard of, but to believe I am an expert would be foolish of me. To see this board fill with the self proclaimed experts and Ferrari Prima Donnas is disturbing to me, hence my contributions.

King

Not to be arrogant DES but I said several advanced degrees. That is one way to be able to play with these kinds of cars.

If we are declaring titles, I declare myself the Ferrari Emperor!!! Ferrari King...surely you jest. As far as DES goes, do you think that he is the only one that has gone to a car lot with no dough? It is accepted and expected. Granted not a good practice but at least he felt bad about it (he has a consciense) and wrote a letter of apology. You, my turkey leg bone eatin', beard sportin', cape wearin' fool in tights.....are a deuche bag

"...go look at the new 350ZX as you are obviously a Nissan and Sharper Image client..."
LMAO, i can't afford a 350Z or anything at The Sharper Image, either...! HA HA HA...!

King: A), B) & C) You're right; the degrees you say you have are none of my business and have no relevant place in this thread- However, you seem to be a pretty literate guy so grab yourself a dictionary and look up 'sarcasm'.
Also, i already wrote a thank you letter to the salesperson at Bentley of Long Island and i included an apology but at the better judgment of one of the members here, i excluded it. You're right, it wasn't the nicest thing for me to do, to go in there and 'stroke' the saleperson and i feel guilty for it; However, if you were to read the entire 'What a tangled web we weave' thread, you'd see that the general concensus of members here agree that there was no real harm done- some of them didn't even think i should've sent a letter. Also, NO ONE here benefits IN ANY WAY from 'stroking' ME, so i feel i got an abundance of honest opinions. (STILL, i'll take yours into consideration, as i'm just that mature). i DO go to car shows whenever possible and if i'm ever invited to a FerrariChat gathering, i'll be sure to attend that, as well. Hans seems to be a pretty straight forward person and i'm sure he would've told me if i acted in an inappropriate manner.

i realize now that the sarcastic comment i made regarding you having a degree and being a therapist wasn't the most mature thing to do, but i'm provoked by your arrogance, obnoxious posts and complete disregard and disrespect for the people that make this board more reputable than any other board on the internet. If you'll notice, my passion for cars extends beyond Ferraris, still you don't see my name registered at other sites. FerrariChat is, by far, the most valuable resource for information, advice and a broad multitude of other things. Your blatant irreverence and maudlin remarks are not considered harmless jocularity, rather they're looked down upon as insipid, conDEScending annoyances and are, hitherto, unappreciated, therefore, an apology on my part will not be furnished. My suggestion to you is to start incorporating some respect into your posts. Maybe then, people such as myself won't be so quick to join the herd on trampling on your character. Good day, Mr. King.

This will be my one and only post on a thread like this:

King, for someone that has so many problems with this chat board, you sure spend a lot of time here. You remind me of the chuckleheads and poseurs that run around the mall doing obnoxious things just to stir the pot and get attention. You also get the same level of respect and credibility.

And remember - this is a FERRARI chat board. Guess what that means? Enthusiasts (owners and non-owners alike) come here to chat about Ferraris. So, while they are here on this board, Ferraris do become their world. I'm one of the non-owners that frequent this site. It's a wonderful resource and an excellent diversion to my day to come here and exchange information with other enthusiasts.

Judging by the titles of the posts here, it's usually easy to weed out the good from the bad. If you don't like it here, or it's too torturous to read the posts here, fine. No one is forcing you to be here. Start your own board then.

Oh yeah - Rob doesn't have to get a discount for a shrink for you. I'd happily foot the bill myself.

Well Charles, from the majority of contents herein one would believe that Ferraris are paramount in the hierarchy of needs.

Objectivity and humility are refreshing things and foundations to a good intelligent discussion. Only a few grains of both to be found here. Discussions seem to turn quickly to insults and penis envy online once a basis for an opinion is questioned. Very similar to the playground behavior of pre-pubescent males. e.g. "Because I said so and you are an assshole, so there". Check the current Enzo/engine technology thread to see such thrashing behavior.

DES: I do have several advanced degrees but a) I am not sure why that is any of your business and b) I do not see how that has any meaning in this forum or c) where it is your place to comment on it. By the way, my opinion is that you should write Champion Motors or, Bentley of LI, a thank you letter combined with an apology for your recent "stroking" of a salesperson. I would suggest refraining from that practice in the future as it has the tendency to hurt someone. If you want to see the cars in person and are not a qualified buyer then pay your ten buscks and go to a car show and do not waste a professional salesperson's time. Perhaps an FCA event or a FChat gathering would be more proper that hitting dealerships. It is called manners and decency. The reps usually work on a rotation basis and each person who enters the property/lot/door has an assigned salesperson. You can just be walking in to stare and take pictures and that salesperson has lost perhaps his only chance to make a buck that day as the next person to walk in may be a qualified buyer and a buck. You on the other hand were a waste of time. Ask Hans Hansen if that is true in his dealership. I suspect that salesman would truly hate to see your face ever again although he may be too polite to indicate that. I do believe that had you approached someone else at Champion who I have dealt with on some Porsches he would have politely, and in my opinion, rightfully, asked you to keep your hands off and go look at the new 350ZX as you are obviously a Nissan and Sharper Image client.

Have a great day,

King

What a hypocrite to come on here talking about wasteful post and then start this. But some people have nothing else to do but try and push buttons. He really doesn't make me mad or anything. Nothing to prove at all fellows. Just sorry to see a valuable resource like FChat go right down the tubes with all the clutter, the need to hear yourself talk and the background noise. Really my only point. It does seem that many threads elicit a response from darn near everyone and eventually results in derogatory comments as a way to prove expertise, manhood or something.

Without some interaction - creating threads of flame and shame was a good first move - it will continue to slide down the tubes and be worthless over time which is a damn shame. I'd suggest creating a new topic perhaps called Car Enthusiast Wannabes where such people can ask what the difference betwen psi and psig is? what is a dry sump? does Mario Andretti own Ferrari? didn't John DeLorean create the 250 and 288 GTOs? what is a weak second gear synchromonizermaticgizmatchi? and so forth.

Unfortunately it would probably require Rob or a proxy to sort those entries into that topic as no one voluntarily wants to be a newbie.

Oh, by the way, I've proven all that I have needed to in my life over the years and it had absolutely nothing to do with anyone here nor will it in the future. Cars and racing are hobbies and not the reason for life.

Have a GREAT DAY. Just envision a site made up of all wannabes as I think that is where you are headed.

Actually this thread is pretty amusing. Think back the last couple of FC years, there are just some people who join FC and feel like they have something to prove. I can think of several of these types... anybody who's been here awhile knows exactly who I'm talking about. Eventually, most of these people settle in, mellow out and become solid FC citizens.

Then there's the kids who are just stirring up trouble... that's a different subject all together. But this Kingmeister guy feels like he's got something to prove... he fits the mold perfectly. So he's either going to change or he'll get frustrated and you'll eventually see him disappear. Ahhh, life goes on.

I have to say that this forum has been of really
great help to me in the past, there really
seem to be many experts ready to volunteer
time and share their knowledge with the rest
of us, especially for 348s (it seems).
Sometimes there are posts/threads that are
a waste of bandwidth... you don't have to
read them!

Given the fact that Ferrari is often less
than helpful and forthcoming with regards
to DIY advice and original spare parts are
very expensive, I can put a significant dollar
value on the advice given in this board.

Thanks to everyone who is willing to share,
and I'll return the favor anytime whenever
I can and whatever little I know.

In this forum, there are novices, and there are experts. The vistors come from all over the world. Perhaps the novices might ask naive questions, but the experts are willing to help and share their knowledge.

In this forum, no one looks down on the others on the ground of wealth, Ferrari ownership, or social standing. This is a forum where equality, fairness, and common sense prevails.

This wonderful community has been getting along fine, until a person who thinks that he is king barges in, and unilaterally assumes the role of the SAVIOUR - it is his birth right, so he deludes himself, to save us from the ignorant, to save us from the inquisitive, and to save us from the chatterbox.

Oh no. We do not need this self-styled "saviour". What we do need, however, is someone to save us from this shallow bigotry and insufferable intolerance, this one-man slum.

Hey Queen, I will type this really slowly so you can keep up:

NO ONE FORCES YOU TO BE HERE. WE ARE HERE BY OUR OWN CHOICE BECAUSE WE LIKE WHAT ROB HAS PUT TOGETHER, AND WE LIKE THE HONEST SHARING OF DIFFERING POINTS OF VIEW. IF YOU FIND IT SO UNPLEASANT TO BE HERE, PLEASE LEAVE IMMEDIATELY AND REMOVE YOUR ALIAS. OTHERWISE, KINDLY SWALLOW YOUR HYPOCRISY AND FIT IN.

Did ya get all that, Queenie? I sure hope so, Queenie.

William H.,

I have been reading/lofting FChat for some time. Never really felt compelled to input and learned a lot. Nowadays though, every other post is criticism towards every other car, something self serving or posting just for the sake of posting. The Lambo post specifically was/is hilarious.

Once again, many of the post are of valuable and good contemporary news on a common interest.

Wow. Have a GREAT DAY!

Hey DES, calling King a Fiero King is an insult to all Fiero Owners! LOL (BTW, I still want to drop a Ferrari engine in a Fiero someday).

people are people world around. The ratio of good
people to bad people is the same here on f-chat
as in the real world.

"If there's a person here with "antisocial tendencies, superiority complexes and anger out the yazoo", I think it's you."
Hence, projection. King, it's time to move on, buddy. You should change your name to Fiero King, 'cause you're gettin' FLAMED...! (HA HA HA HA, i crack myself up...!)

Mr. King,

I recall your first post about a week ago. You titled the thread, "Any chance that car people will take over FChat?". And your very first message included this impressive line, "A large percentage of contributions here (FC) lean toward Junior High Auto Shop and waste reader's time."

If there's a person here with "antisocial tendencies, superiority complexes and anger out the yazoo", I think it's you.

Mr. King, have you ever walked into a party where some a$$hole was complaining and bragging to a bunch of people he'd never even met? You know, the kind of guy you don't want to be associated with? You sure appear to think you're much better than the rest of us. Do you get it yet, pal?

Ferrari King- you remind me of a college room mate that didn't last too long. When we met for the first time, he told me... "I've had seven bad room mates in a row."

It's the cup holder syndrome... i get like that, too... You find a car you like and find out it doesn't have cup holders, that's why he's so stressed out... Let's just let him be... He'll come out of it, after a while... King, hang in there, man, i know how you feel, you gotta project your insecurities on others when life gets too hard, don't let it get to ya, buddy...!

Sure seems so. A few pretty nice and knowledgable guys here but outweighed by children who think the world revolves around fast cars and that their opinion is the only one that counts.

Maybe Rob Lay can arrange for a FChat discount at shrinks around the world to help all the folks with antisocial tendencies, superiority complexes and anger out the yazoo.
