Andrew, I don't doubt that he has given you good service. He supplies the replica 16" wheels which many people here have ordered and there were no problems. I'm glad that you have had good experiences with him. Having said that though, he replied to my emails. If he didn't have the time to do it he shouldn't have. There is no reason to be rude. I think my emails were courtious and I asked rational questions. If he can't handle working email then he should have someone else do it for him. I'm in a service industry myself, and I can't afford to lose even one customer. Your reputation is everything. The corner kit that I inquired about has 11 different part numbers. Don't you think it is a good question to ask what his kit comes with? He also says that it is now stainless. What is stainless? There are different metals and plastic parts in there, what is stainless? His discription has no pictures, and no Ferrari reference numbers. I don't think I was wasting his time asking about them. Maybe he should stick to the phone and forget about web pages and email! |

I have ordered many times also from Mike Elliot and have had no problems with any of the parts that he has sent me,including his electronic ignition and high performance camshafts for my Fiat Dino Spider. He is one of the only people in the world to carry and have parts reproduced for the Fiat Dino's.My car is one of 424 made of the 2.4 Spider and I appreciate what he is doing.I have talked to him many times for advice and he is very helpful and really knows what he is doing. One thing to remember with Superformance is that just because he has a Web site and looks like some huge company, that is just not the case and he can get too busy and stressed out.I give him time and he always gets back to me.I also trust him and will continue to give him my business.I also have an 1989 328 GTS and buy all my parts from Brian Keegan at Ferrari Parts Exchange for that car and other Ferrari's that I work on here in San Carlos,California. I just wanted to say that Superformance has been a big help to me and very fair and I am sorry to hear of you guys having a problem. If anyone wants to email me about Mike Elliot then that would be great,my address is [email protected]. |

Good call Jay. I'd be willing to bet my life, or better yet my car, that Evan Williams is Mike Elliot. Thant post he made sounds a lot like the e-mails you received. |

Evan, you bring up a good point "it costs what it costs" that is true, but in this case he didn't tell me what it costs! I want to know shipping so I can calculate if it is worth it with the exchange. I'm not going to pay OEM prices for reproduction parts! If I take your logic then I should just shut up and pay this joker whatever he asks even if his products are reproductions, cost more and I get bad service, yeah that makes sense! His "kit" which I still don't know what comes with it will end up costing BP300. By the time you tack on shipping (which I don't know how much it is because he's not amazon.com) will be over $1000US. I can buy all those parts from the dealer for the same price and they are OEM not reproduction. The reason I emailed him was because everyone says he has parts in stock, well he can keep them. I guess he has enough business with you that he doesn't need mine! Just wondering, is your real name M Elliot? |

I have been dealing with Superformance for years and have bought and traded parts on at least 15 occasions with Mike and have never had a bad word out of him. They have always been helpful and courteous. Jay, big deal on the shipping costs. I've got news for you, it costs what it costs. You know what they say, if you have to ask how many miles per gallon, you can't afford it. |

I ordered a replacement ignition from Superformance for my Dino. Was supposed to be a high-output upgraded unit that fit in the original box. What I got looked like it was assembled by a third grader from leftover ham radio parts. It was also packed so poorly that the ceramic insulator broke into many little pieces during shipping. I still have it in the box if anyone wants it, I'd never put in in a car. |

Jeff, could you get me a quote on the fuel cans (tanks) for a European F40. I was on the ATL web site and they have the bladders for the tanks. Do the US and European tanks mount the same? Am I better off modifying my US tanks to take the bladders? What is the filler hose (pipe) size on the US F40? Is it different from the European version? Please include price and availability. Thank you. |

Thanks Jeff, I got the reply from Ferrari UK. I'll be getting in touch, one way or another. Glad to see some people can still show some politeness when dealing with customers. |

Hi all. To answer Hans' question and to clarify for all of you, YES ! Ferrari UK runs the Classic Parts Web Site element of the Ferrari Owners' Site. We have a unique arrangement with the Factory whereby we have been given universal responsibility for OE parts for many of the old models such as 308, 328, 288, Mondial, 400, 412, GTB etc etc. All parts ordered through the Owners' Site come from our warehouse in the UK. We have a parts interpretation team second to none who revell in searching out new bits for old cars ! Anyone who would like to come and see our large stocks of parts is very welcome to do so, if they're in the area (Egham, Surrey, England). Just email me first. Regards.

Jay, I got all my suspension bushings from Partsource in ME. Geoff was totally professional and he discounted. I did everything, 4 new shocks, every bushing front and rear. I also bought the reproduction 16" QV wheels from Mike Elliot. He was fine, gave me free shipping and they showed up on time. I don't have any affiliation with either of these companies. |

While I've never done business with Superformance, I can say from experience that Jeff / Ferrari.UK is one of the best suppliers / source for Ferrari parts -- especially older, hard to find parts. I'd been searching for nearly a year for certain items, and they had them! The whole transaction was smooth as silk, excellent communication, and lightning fast shipping. |

Hi all. For obvious reasons I can't comment on the Superformance issue but sorry to hear of the poor service you've received anywhere here in the motherland ! :-) It is so easy to give great service. I suppose it depends on how interested a particular supplier is in his or her customers. I expect you've already got it sorted but we have heaps of 109905 in stock. How many do ya want ! Regards. I've had decent luck with Eurospares.co.uk but Superformance was not pleasant (and downright NASTY) dealing with on email. |

After ordering some 20-30 parts from The USA for my "Z" (Very difficult to source certain parts over here) I have noticed how polite the guys are from across the pond. They are always willing to help out - even if they dont know, they will try and point you in the right direction. Here in the UK I seem to notice more and more companies that have a bad attitude towards their customers I personally cannot believe how any of them are still in business. The power of "word of mouth" is stronger than any advertising budget!

This is interesting, because I had a completely opposite experience with Elliott at Superformance! I don't have any alliance with them and I've only bought from them once (16" QV wheels) but I found Elliott to be responsive & helpful. Plus, I feel like I got a great deal on the wheels and they arrived exactly when he said they would. No issues! Strange!?! Sorry to hear it didn't go as well for you Jay. It surprises me!! |

I've had the same thing in terms of poor customer service - real nasty, don't-give-a-fxxx attitude. I've started using other sources when possible... even if they cost slightly more |

They are a little short and rude there. I got a fuel pump from them that was so loud I had to remove it and get one from another source. I am not a fan either. |

it is a good thing you didn't order...he is pretty inconsistant with his shipping...my last order took forever something like 6 weeks...was sent via regular parcel post... the other thing that bothers me is that many of the parts are "Knock-offs" or parts that "will" work and are not from the OE suppliers...an example is the fuel pump they offer...and the cam cover nuts they sell...among other things. |

That's what really got me Bruce! He didn't answer any of my questions! Here is the email I sent back to him "Why are you being so rude? The description is very vague and doesn't tell me what is included, there is no diagram stating what this kit comes with. I wanted a price for shipping for this kit and the ball joints, and all you do is tell me you are not amazon.com You're service is lacking. A bit disappointing seeing that you were refered to me. Sorry to have disturbed you." |

I emailed Superformance for some information on some suspension parts and for a pair of upper ball joints. I put down the Ferrari part numbers in my email without the TAV #. I got an email asking to include the TAV# so I did. What resulted was very disturbing for a customer service based company. Here is the emails M Elliott wrote: What is part number 109905? Please always supply TAV plus the locating number. Sent: 13 January 2003 17:24 To: M Elliott Subject: Re: Sorry, it is a spacer for the outside corner suspension TAV 36 #11 M Elliott wrote: Sorry no cannot help with that part as make the right amount of parts for complete kits and these are in stainless steel. Sent: 14 January 2003 18:57 To: M Elliott Subject: Re: I saw the complete kit that you carry 2894F. Can you give me a break down of which parts are included and a price to ship to Toronto. It says that it is stainless, are all of the components stainless? Could you also include the price for upper ball joints with the shipping? Thanks very much. M Elliot wrote: If you look at the description on 2849F this you will find I assume self explanatory.Ball joints are 73.50 each. I can only reiterate we cannot calculate shipping until we know exactly what is required and the order is picked and packed. We are not amazon.com selling books and CD's shipping costs vary enormously with weight and or dimensions. Please use our website and or download the 308 catalogue in PDF format it will save both of us quite a lot of time. For the time it took him to write all of that he could have told me which part numbers are included in the kit. After all, each corner has 11 seperate part #'s. I'm not just going to hand over money without knowing what it's gonna cost me with shipping and what I get for my money. |
