Love the wheels Tim! Jon, that old M5 is a bad a*s machine. In 1991 in Germany I had one of these on my back driving a 1991 Testarossa and I could not get rid of the guy. He actually passed me. This is on the open Autobahn. The worst thing is you do not know what you are dealing with because you can not tell it is an M5 except for the little badge in the grill and the two pipes in the back. Well that guy had the badge removed and I could only tell by the darn pipes. That sucker made my cry! Does not surprise me you are in front of everybody! |

"But can it handle like the F40..." in the sand... yes, it handles like the F40, it is an F40 only much faster in the sand. its an F40 for off road. |

not a very good picture of the sandrail. I'll get another. anyway, it has a subaru 2.5L motor. ball bearing turbo, putting out 550HP. car weighs 1500 lbs. yes, its a rocket. it will eat the F40 alive. |

DES: just giving you a hard time on the rims. my house? its only 800 feet, one bath, with kitchenette and pull out sofa bed. Chris: I cant believe your doing a hood, you dog! I love that thing. well, at least now you know what to get me for xmas next year. congrats on the garage, it will be very exciting...and frustrating during the build. if you need any help on the coach, please let me know I will be happy to help any way I can. I am building two more coach's right now and then the next one will be on the Argosy, that one will be way cool. you will love these RM1 karts. the shifters really beat the heck out of you and the regular rotax can get a little boring so the RM1 is a nice in the middle kart. jimpo1: no paddock at the new house. we are going to build a sepperate (attached) bay for the karts at the new house. as Chris said, they take up as much room as cars. then load them on a trailer and pull it down with the golf cart. eventually the interior road will be paved so we can just drive the karts down. not till all the construction is completed and its over a mile long road so the trip to the track will be almost as fun as the track. Dave: no ignorance and no stupid questions. here is my sandrail. also a pic of Robby Gordon signing my kids helmets and his trophy truck at the dunes. crap - pics are too big and I gotta run. I'll post them in a couple hours.

I hate to say it Tim, but the first thing I noticed was the carts! Are you going to have a 'paddock' at the new place so you can keep the carts on the track? |

Tim, please excuse my ignorance, whats a Sandrail? BTW awesome garage and some fine 'tools' to fill it, I love it when people don't just have lots of spare cash but most importantly they know some of the best ways to offload it. You seem to have great taste, many out there don't and unfortunately for them it ain't for sale at any price. |

Tim, I am glad you got your rims! How are you dealing with no safety pins? Roland has the safety pins that go into the center and expand, you will need a set. I will get you his number if you do not have it. You know I bought a set of black center Kinesis rims with a polished lip (supposed to be all black, but whatever) for my track rims. And yes, you have the last Pirelli's let me know where you got yours. Now you just need some brakes to make it stop! I just wrote my check for my new garage, a bit more modest than yours, 36x30. This will be my "shop" garage with a lift. this will go behind my 36x24 I store the Ferrari's in. Should be done by April. My "RaceCoach" is coming very slowly, but should get going after the first. I guess I should have imposed on you and had you build it, but I knew you were trying to wind that company down. The guys building it are doing excellent work though, I just should not have told them to "take your time"! As you may have read, got the LM'turbo's on, BIG difference! I am having an LM hood built, sorry, had to do it! I love that big tunnel! We need to get together somewhere, name it and I will bring the F40 (the 'Coach should be done by April, I hope) Your car looks great! Chris PS I need to talk about your KART! We have 7 here at the house, 3 Briggs and 4 80cc Shifters, I finally built a a Kart Paddock last year, 32x20 to store the karts in, hell they take up as much room as cars! (And alot more maintenance!) but they are fun. I need to find out about this new kart, very interested. We have a new indoor track in Kansas city that is excellent! I need to come out and play on your track! |

Tim, you don't have to get them over 18"... i like chrome rims, i can't help it... i've never seen the spinning ones in real life- just on the trojan horse television, which is kind of surprising with all the money the kids around here, have... Tim, with a garage that big, i can't imagine what your house must be like... you must have your own zip code... Can i ask you a question...? (i just did, didn't i...? Doh! There goes another one...!) Although i'd love to own all the cars you own (except for the Mustang & the Viper) and a whole lot more, how do you choose which one to drive each day...? Do you drive them all everyday...? (Viper down the five mile drive way to get the morning paper, 360 to go get the morning coffee, F40 to to your neighbor's house (10 miles away) to borrow some brown sugar...?) i have severe problems making decisions and if i had as many cars as you have, i think i might hemmorrage trying to decide what to drive, everyday... Just wondering... Your garage looks awesome and sounds even more awesome- if i lived there, i'd never make it into the house...!

almost forgot. DES: the chromies with the spinning center, that was a joke - no bling bling for me. any wheel over 18" is just wrong, especially when its chrome. I cant wait for the bling bling chrome wheel thing to fade away. cant stand to see them on SUVs to.... well, you name it. just my opinion. chrome wheels on a Ferrari? com'on DES you should know better. |

Cool car Rob. must have been fun working on that! Byron: the flooring is called Tylon. it snaps together in 12"x12" squares and comes in many colors. DES: yes the 360 is in there too along with the viper, my chevy 2500 HD crew cab long bed, my mercedes S430, my sandrail, 4 quads, 7 dirt bikes, 5 Karts, and tons of tires, wheels, two couches, 3 leather chairs, LCD projector and screen - the screen pulls down on the wall behind the F40, thats why the couches are there, bathroom, laundry room for rags, compresor closet, 3 sinks, and tons of other stuff. the garage is about 3000' feet with a 400' loft for storage and a 1200' workshop with lift, etc. you can see the door to the workshop just past the pirelli banner. Paul: RM1 Kart is incredible. I'm sure you know all the specs on the Kart. I took it out this weekend to the track on my property. this was the first RM1 delivered. I spent 30 minutes breaking it in then we let her rip. I have 3 other Karts, two are old chassis with rotax and the other is a Trulli rotax. I also have a Trulli shifter with a Prevasi motor. almost done building it. anyway, at the track we had two USAC drivers, one F3000 driver, an infiniti challenge driver and some retired sports car racers. we also had one of the top 125 shifter Kart guys in the state out. the shifter took off to get warmed up. after about 4 laps my RM1 went out with the F3000 driver in it (not me), the shifter was about 400' in front. the RM1 caught up in 1.5 laps. you could see him setting the shifter up for the pass. the shifter could get out of tight corners faster than the RM1 but the RM1 would catch him quickly. the brakes were better in the RM1 since they were 4 wheel hydralic discs. then on the third lap coming onto the straight the RM1 pulled out along side and beat the shifter down the straight by 2 kart lengths. after one lap in front, the RM1 moved out almost a quarter of the track in front of the shifter and kept going and going and going. with the direct drive the power is instant. brakes are incredible, only 1/2" of movement in the brake peddle. the paddle shifter is cool. a little clunky because it is cable but you get used to it fast. it is really fun to drive not taking your hands off the wheel or the gas when you shift. kinda like my 360 challenge only a mini version. I have almost $9000. in my shifter at this point and its not done and I'm thinking about selling it and getting another RM1. |

F40 looks good with those wheels certainly. Very nice garage & shop. I'd like to hear more of your impressions of the RM1 kart. I have a Rotax and would like to know how the new kart works. Esp the transmission and brakes. |

Holy mess in my pants...! Tim, is that really your car...? & you have a 360 Challenge, too...? Oh, man, that car looks so sweet...! & your garage looks like a showroom...! How big is that thing...? Is the 360 in there, too...? Um... regarding the wheels... well... in all honesty, i'm not too fond of them... The car is still gorgeous, don't get me wrong... The wheels just don't do it for me... Please, please, please, please, please, please post pictures of the spinning rims if you decide to put those on... |

Thanks, Jon, the entire article is available online. Just read it. Love the wheels Tim! I have a preference for black wheels on racecars. Here's an F40 I had a big hand in building, and re-building (these are BBS 17's).
Don't mind the smoke, bit of a oiling problem related to the Garret T3/4 50 trim hybrid turbo upgrade we built. C-C Tilton clutch and other goodies. Before it was totaly sorted, it was sold to Motion Products, and they've got it cooking good. On it's first shake down at Gingerman, the owner, a dedicated speed freak, actually asked me to turn the boost down a bit as the engine was accelerating so quick, he kept bashing the limiter. We turned it back up as he got used to the new power. Norwood helped me on this somewhat. |

Tim, nice wheels! They look great on your car... I've got the same wheels on my 348 as well (though not as wide..hehe). What kind of flooring is that in your garage, by the way? Is it some sort of tiling or is painted? |

Hi Jon. ya its an old mustang turned into a track car. its actually setup really nice for the track. 400hp crate engine, fuel cell, roll cage, fire system, suspension, brakes, etc. cheap to run, cheap to fix and cheap to keep. much less expensive than the 360 Challenge. I still have the challenge as well but I think I'm going to sell it. also selling the Viper track car too. also racing karts now too. have gotten 5 of them over the last two months. just got the new RM1 with two speed paddle shifter - way cool. it ate a shifter kart for lunch last sunday. it was amazing. |

Tim, Nice wheels. By the way if you can get a copy of December 2002 Auto Italia car magazine they have a Michelotto F40 on their front cover and a nice 6 page write up on the car. It' sold at most Barnes and Nobles here on the East Coast but if you can't locate one contact them directly at www.auto-italia.co.uk . If you want me to get you a copy let me know. Great Article. Regards, Jon P. Kofod 1995 F355 Challenge #23 PS: Is that a Mustang I see lurking in the picture?

After waiting 4 months I finally got my wheels. then just by chance I got the last set of tires in the country. Pirelli is on national back order on these tires but I got lucky. just finished putting them on this afternoon. I thought about getting the 22" chromie's with the spinning center but thought I would try these on first.
