Luigi, great to hear you'll be coming to Nurburgring, and I will selfishly hope with the Stradale - I am really interested in it and would love to see it in person and see how it goes, no doubt awesome!

Jon,

How true, how true...
But you know what happens when you are standing at the start with this red sportscar and the track lying in front of you (especially when its a track like the Nordschleife).
Isnt this something we dreamt of for so long?
Tazio Nuvolari, Mike Hawthorn, John Surtees, Peter Collins....
:-) :-) :-)

Jens,

Just remember to tell everyone two things:

1) Nothing you do today to your car at this track will improve it's value !!

2) Ferrari already has two test drivers and two racers under contract and are not looking for any more !!

If you want to memorize the corners buy the Ruf Porsche video tape with in car footage of Ruf's test driver flogging the car around the track. Just don't try to imitate him.

Regards,

Jon

Luigi,

Great you want to join us! Will keep you and the others constantly updated about the details and prices.
Time of 19th to 22th of june 2003 is set with a probability of 90% I would say (Last word has Nürburgring management as long as we dont want to rent the whole track, I fear)
You are surely a lucky lad to get a Challenge stradale. A heck of a car. Drove a 360 Challenge once for two laps at Spa. Fun with this car is definitely priceless...

Jens, I would like to be added to the list of what sounds like a very interesting get together.
I don't know if I will come with my Modena or if the Challenge Stradale will already have been delivered by that time.

Thanks for the effort...

Jon,

Hope we dont trash any cars. Would be a shame to do harm to our red toys. Nevetheless I also slipped off track with my car at Adenauer Forst.

Nasty think about the old Nordschleife is that you got nearly no room to escape when "leaving" the track. Sidewalls are always just several meters away from track. This means you going to hit something hard very fast when doing a mistake. One mistake at a 20km track is not much by the way :-(

Jon,

Already found the Auto&Motor und Sport calendar 2003? At the moment these kind of calendars are sold for around 5 Euro in Germany since they are already considered as "old".

Will post as many pics and hopefully some videos of the event around end of june 2003

Really looking forward to the event, hope it doesnt rain the two days. As Spa the Eifel where the Nürburgring is located is known as an extensive bad weather area (lots of mountains etc.)
