i have owned my tr since 99. every time i start it up after it has sat for a few days i have a knocking from the ac compressor that is located just behind the passenger seat. it will stop after about 10 minutes or until it warms up. i have never had any ac problems and i have put a number of miles on the car, including using it in several ferrari club of america rallies.

Omar,
I believe the group to be correct here. The are MANY Tr's available. Find a nice one. There is one here in Memphis that is PRISTINE. It is clearly the nicest one I've ever been assiciated with, and I've seen tons of them. He would sell it for less than 70k. Take your time, enjoy the hunt.

It was I was really looking forward to a TR to add to the aquarium (bmws are sharks..so my f-car is a seahorse :-))

My mother tells me that "that car with cuts in the side" was my fav when I was little. Looking through my old toys, I had lots of TRs! She showed me a pic of my room when I was real little...my bed was in the shape of a red TR! (just the overall line, not grill) and on my dresser was a pic of a TR!

some kids liked lambo countaches....not me!! :-)

Sad day? Omar, are you nuts? It sounds like today was your lucky day. You went and looked at a car that was NOT healthy. You made the RIGHT choice. Do you know how many people buy cars sight unseen and pay big-time?

There are a lot of good cars out there right now.... take your time and be patient. Consider this your lucky day. Things happen for a reason. Be patient! It took many of us months and months to find the right car.

Pass and move on. Don't jump into a f-car. Take your time. Mistakes are expensive and ruin the joy

This place is amazing... It's like a utopia, full of just good-hearted people... Every where i look, someone's helping someone out... When i get a Ferrari, will all of you come over and see it...?

The quote for this is "If you have any doubt, there is no doubt". You should probably move on. If the your friend and mechanic are telling you it does not look like a 19k mile car, it probably doesn't. It may have just had a very hard 19k, but that realy doesn't matter because when you buy a low milage car, you're paying extra because everything is like new. Clearly that is not the case here. If the price is priced low enough and you don't care that your car is not perfect and don't what to try to make it perfect, that's something else. But then you wouldn't be looking at a low milage car to begin with would you? That said, where is the car? I'm west of philly, if you don't find a TR owner/exowner, I might be able to look at it with you.

I went to look at it with my mechanic friend today and turns out that to him it looked more like 60k than 19k...that and when it started up he herad a knocking sound from the driver side something or another (near AC something, fuel injector something I dont remember what he said exactly) I heard it too...it seemed to lessen as the car heated up.

That said, can someone please come and look at it with me too? I really would like another opinion as well, as my mech freely admitted he didnt know f-cars.

thanks much
