Don Johnson's silver '89 Testarossa went for $84,000. Had only 10,200 miles. I was looking to get it for $60 - $65k, and Tom Papadopoulos of Autosport Designs was out there shopping for cars. Guess I'll just have to find another TR...

I think the car was worth it, for sure.

I was very pleasantly surprised to see many of the selling prices, I think this was a great bellwether for the state of this niche of the economy. Great to see the cash flowing for such quality cars.

I can see why the crowd boo'd for the 300K Camaro, they were disappointed, they (we) wanted to see that sell for such an amazing amount.

I watched parts of the auction and I thought Reggie also had a 275 GTB/2 for sale that did not meet reserve. Is he losing interest in his cars or needs the money? I think 330 K was plenty of money for that car. I had rather have a 288 GTO, for less than that. The 288 is rarer, great looking AND A GREAT investment. No one actually drives these cars on the road, but many track them. Reggie I am sure knows how to take care of his low mileage cars...he is reputed to have more than 100 collector cars. Low mileage cars are not necessarily neglected cars... some are gems and this F 40 looked it

Stupid cold reving is much worse than properly driven higher milage that's why a 275 mile F40 might be in much worse shape than a properly driven and serviced 10,000 mile one.

I hate it when stupid people rev their engines for no reason but to look cool. They have no idea the engines arent supposed to be revved sometimes

I just got back... Reggie's F40 bid up to I think $324,500 or something in that neighborhood, and he then revealved the reserve was $400k.

He also had a 1969 ZL-1 Camaro for auction (one of 69 built by GM, one of 2 white ones). It bid up to $280k, and then he revealed the reserve was $330k. I realize it's a rare car and all, but over $300k for a CAMARO??!! Come on. Apparently the crowd agreed, as they broke into some serious boo-ing when this was revealed. First time I've ever heard a crowd at this auction boo at anything/anyone like this.

I looked over the F40 closely and it was very nice and spotless. One down note -- the driver for this car got in, started it up, and proceeded to rev the cold engine to probably 4,000 rpm repeatedly, to impress the crowd. Not exactly the sort of thing I'd like my F40 engine to go through...

I don't think that car met its reserve. Reggie Jackson wanted 400K for that car. I agree that the car looked great, i beleive it only has 287 original miles.

Do you think that the F40 was worth ~335K? The car looked great!
