Here's some More details for you guys out there. Matt it was the dealer on William st. I love driving by the shop as well. You never know when a stray F40 or F-50 or Enzo may show up in the window. It's a shame all the hookers hang around the front a night time when it's easy to get a park in the vicinity to go have a good look. I didn't get photos last night, but got photos at the Sydney Motor show last year. When I find the cd I'll post some. Unfortunately they cars look a bit pink cause of the extra red floodlights to really give that Ferrari atmosphere. That particular Enzo, to my knowledge, is not for sale here. Apparantly it needs to go back to Italy for some work. I noticed a fairly large shrinkback in the paint on the boot lid, although really bright fluoro lights can be very unforgiving, you may not notice it outside. I as told that Aussie customs at the docks broke up the special container box for shipping the car in, and now there's a bunch of toing and froing betwen here and Italy to get a new box made. The car should have left here late October after the motor show. So we are very fortunate to have it here at all. FYI the car had about 760 kms on the odo. Jeff, I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Herbert yet, but when I do I'll be sure to tell him his praises are being sung on the other side of the planet. |

Good for you Tim! I was quite amazed at the liberties they allowed you at the dealership. Afterall, most dealerships are VERY squeamish about the cars there. THEN you mentioned the name Scuderia Veloce!! Mr. Herbert Appleroth, in my opinion, is the perfect car guy. He is a total gentleman and always goes out of his way to make his visitors feel at home. I've been to many, (at least 15), major Ferrari dealerships around the world, you see, I travel internationally for a living. Ferrari of Sydney is tops in my opinion. The parts guys are great too. I wait until I get all the way to Sydney, from Memphis, quite frequently to buy spares for my old 308, JUST TO DO BUSINESS WITH HERBERT AND STU! You are a very lucky man to have this resource available to you. Congrats! Please buy Herbert a beer for me! |

What a great evening. I went to my first Ferrari club meeting tonight. Seeing how I joined the club I thought I should start to get involved. The night started off with a great meal at one of the local pubs, then off to the dealership for the bi-monthly meeting. Drooled over the Enzo, a 360 Challenge and a 550 Barchetta. We went through all the club business and after the meeting the man in charge at the dealiship slipped downstairs into the showroom and started up the Enzo. That made eveyone jump and look around. We went down and had a good listen. It sounds pretty damn awesome. Verys smooth and docile while at idle, but when the go pedal was pused it went hard. Sound alot like an F1 car but not quite as high pitched. It made the 360 sound like it would be a slow car. I had a good chat with the dealership represntative and he let me sit in the car. It's quite comfy, would be awesome to drive. It felt fast just sitting in it. I love the carbon fibre all around. The car has a great computurised dash. I was impressed by it all. The window winders are pretty cool, check them out if you ever get to see the car up close. I'll probably never get to go in one again so I'm feeling very happy with the world for this small opportunity. Thanks to Micheal Lister and the Scuderia Veloce Ferrari of Sydney for their time and accomodation of us and our Ferrari club. |
