Thanks, will do. Had not considered the fans, but can see where they would be critical. This is from a car that I decided against, thought it was nice: From: M @aol.com Date: Thu, 9 Jan 2003 11:55:20 EST Subject: Re: Ferrari 348 Spider To: [email protected] Thanks for the interest you have shown. It was always a pleasure to deal with you. You are a very polite person. It is very rare anymore. It is sad to say that. Have a great day and a prosperous 2003. Thanks again. Mark

Congrats and welcome to the Mondial club. Before you plan on using the cig. lighter, make sure that it is a standard US as opposed to the Euro drop the cigarette in model. Easy to change out but always a pain if you planned on plugging something into it like a V1, phone etc... When you put the top down, two of the best tips are to put the behind the rear seat snaps for the tonneau on first and push up the on second roof rib while slowly putting the top down. Also fold the back window outside of the top and you will find it fairly easy to get down, make sure you pull it back before putting it up lest you rip it. Also check that the fans are running before you take the big trip and have a great time! Been through a bunch with mine, email me offline and I will give you my cell so if you have any problems, you can contact me while you are driving home. Been there and down that with 2 cabs both making better than 1300 miles trips to be home with me. - JMG

>>Any tips on the Mondial t? Like tricks to get the top up and down.<< Go slow & gentle until you get the contraption figured out. Back slowly, folding carefully, pushing and prodding gently. It'll get easier as you dial your technique in. Be very carefull not to force the latches, they break far to often for mosts likeing. Latches $150 ea. . Sounds like a great way to take delivery of a Ferrari, have fun. Regards, JRV |

Dave good luck an hope it work's out for you. As far as extra parts go i would buy extra auxillary belts. One just cant go into NAPA an find a simple $20 belt when you need it. Have a fun an safe drive home. |

Unless there are some unexpected problems or delays, I will have the 89 Mondial t Cab on Feb. 1. First I would like to thank all the people who shared their knowledge while I was learning in the last year and a half. Would also like to thank the person who said that the car was gorgeous in the previous thread. That came at a low point when I wished I had never heard the word Ferrari. Would also like to thank Jonathan Peck from Auto Lease Advantage for his non-leasing help. The car will be a driver that I will keep in as new condition as possible. It will never be in a Concours. Even after I get a two-seater, I will keep this as an extra car and as a car for the times when a two-seater is not a good choice. The car had a 30,000 mile service to include belts a little over a year ago. The first thing I will do is drive it 900 miles about a six hour drive. :-) OK, maybe a LITTLE longer. It has a built in A40 and hopefully my V-1 will be back from warranty repair by then. Might take Friskie the Beagle dog with me. Swing by a special beach that I have not been to in a few years. A friend of mine owns a chain of Holiday Inns. One of Lances Holiday Inns is located on a beach. Might spend the night there. The car has tool kit and manuals. Besides extra money and credit cards, will take tri-mode cell phone with extra battery, notebook computer, cell phone also has built in modem to make a high speed connection to the Internet (using it to make this connection from a nice deli), portable GPS, power plug splitter, maybe the hand held aviation radio to get weather forecasts, and a hand held CB radio. I also have extended towing from AAA. Anything else I should carry? For extra security, considering the Club, but do not know if I can carry it on a plane. What is best? Have also heard about gate locks. How good are they? If good, best source to get one? Any tips on the Mondial t? Like tricks to get the top up and down. Any special maintenance? Anything to watch? Any unusual driving tips? In the future, is it a good idea to have on the shelf some extra parts? Maybe alternator, starter, water pump, the fuse block that gives many people problems, etc. Any recommendations? Send any info on or off list. Off list, if the mailbox [email protected] is full, use [email protected] or [email protected] Thanks, Dave
