If you like variety and older cars (incl. Ferraris) check out: "On the beach" (1959), "State Fair" (1962) or "The Killers" (1964). All with a hokey script, but fun to watch and some really old/unique cars. And you get Ronald Reagan for free ;) |

My favorite is "Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo" with the Lancia Scorpion that Herbie falls in love with... |

I saw a satellite feed of Disney's movie, "The Love Bug" about Herbie the Volkswagen. So I started taping it. The whole premise of the movie is stupid, but the racing scenes have some tremendous cars in them. Others have mentioned this movie before, but I just spent a half hour or more doing some slow motion and still framing of the racing scenes. Ferraris, Corvettes, Cobras, Triumphs, of all sorts including bone stockers and modifieds. I even spotted several Bizzarinis among the pack. Maybe LWayne can answer a question for me. What kind of car was the yellow fastback coupe that Herbie was racing against for the major part of the race? It looked like a cross between an XKE Jaguar and a 275 Ferrari. If you like classic race cars, you have to tape the movie and shuttle through it sometime. I wonder where those cars are today.
