Jeff,

Mazal Tov! May you enjoy it in good health. Your, er, um, now MY '85 308QV will be here tomorrow at 9am. Congrats on the 348 my friend. You deserve it and hope the wife does not fear driving the 348.

BTW: Costco has a great deal on Mich Pilot Sport tires, might go for it...

Enjoy The Drive,

Steven R. Rochlin

Jeff - was it really 8 hours of laughter? Or was it more like 8 hours of giggling like a little girl with sore cheeks because you are smiling so much? =D

Glad all the effort was worth it!

sorry, Mitchell, I didn't get that close of a look at it. I did see it fairly clearly in my rear view though! I'd guess the Z06 would be a good challenge for me.

Jeff, with 350rwhp, the corvette shouldn't have been that much of a challange. Was it a z06 perchance?

Well, really only about 7 hours. I zipped home from Norwoods in my new 348 tt "expediciously".
I left at about 6:30 am; I couldn't wait to get on the road.
Let me first say this: I've always considered myself to be a very competent driver, even better than most without professional training. I don't drive this car worth a damn! I am getting used to it now and am already much more familiar than I was when I picked it up in Dallas.
I wasn't on the road about 15 minutes when I first was antagonized by a new Mustang. For him, a nice look at my fading tailights was in order. I gave it to him.
Later on that day, a new (maybe 2000-2002) Corvette wanted to hear the turbos spin. I let him. He was a much more worthy opponant. At about 70 MPH I down shifted to 4th and went straight to the floor the car revs FAST from 5000-7000 rpms. I didn't ZIP past him, but I did handily walk away from him by about 100 or 110. I let off as he was clearly in my rear view mirror at 140. Big ADRENALIN rush! I think I'll drive it like this for a while...........
