Stu - I live just outside of Chicago... beautiful, sunny, warm Chicago! I'd love to see some photos! |

If I were you, you can always do window shopping there, but you can get the price somewhere else for somewhere between $20-40k less expensive if you look hard enough. I know the owner Bob Bingham, very nice and excellent guy. If you are able to come up with extra $20k for excellent service, go for it. I just don't have a gut to do that although I like the people there with excellent after sale service.

Mike, Thanks! I really wanted a Euro as I like the few slight differences that exist...like the bumpers, side mirrors, front grill, driving lights, center vent on front hood, but especially the difference in performance. As for the color - I'm just really not a "red" kind of guy. I'd be happy to take a closer look at the QV for you. I'll look this week and email you. BTW - where are you located? |

I purchased my 348 from Park Place in January 2000. It had a number of problems, they didn't try to hide them. They let me look it over very carefully, didn't try to rush me, but said it was being shipped out to auction if I decided not to buy it. They had me talk to a mechanic who had supposedly given it an inspection, and he gave me a real snow job, took me for an idiot. Waste of time. I don't know if he was an employee, I think he was someone who did work for them in another shop. This was the guy who told me the A/C compressor was causing the entire climate control system to shut down (it had a bad fuse). When I asked him why a bad compressor would cause the whole system to be dead, he said "That's the way all Ferrari climate control systems work". My only other negatory comment is that apparently they had someone do a really, really awful dye job on the leather seats. The guy must have closed his eyes and just emptied a couple of cans of spray dye in the general direction of the seats. It tooks me several days to strip it all off and redo it with Leatherique products. There was overspray everywhere. The dye was so thick in places that you couldn't see the stitching! In general, they were OK.

BTW, the PPI recommedation is for Carlo Durante, at Alfa of Tacoma. He is the Master Ferrari Technician in these parts, and comes highly recommended. My car is presently under his care as we speak... :-) Graham at PP is also considered a top Ferrari mechanic, but an obvious conflict exists... |

Stu - beautiful 308! Why a euro, not a US? Color? personal preference? Just had to have it? If you wouldnt mine poking around PP, give it a hard cosmetic look. I'll call sooner or later about the records, accident history, etc. thanks! Jeff... could I expect the same treatment buying a considerably less expensive car? |

I looked at that car and the 348 about two months ago. The 348 was in better shape cosmetically so I looked at the 348 more closely. I seem to remember that the 308 was missing the QV badge in the back. Also, one of the gauges in the center console had a broken glass. I didn't check the 308 records or VIN as I got more focused on the 348. I dealt with Tim Mills. BTW, after all the search, I ended up buying a 328 elsewhere. My overall experience with PP was positive. My decision boiled down to actual car selection and price. |

Hey Mike, My dealership is 2 blocks from PP and I have done business with them in the past. I think, for the most part, they try hard to do a good job and to "do the right thing". However, I would not buy a car from them without taking all the necessary precautions one needs to take before buying a Ferrari. I've seen a lot of their cars and most are nice, but I've seen a few that were very questionable as well. I am less than 5 minutes from them and I would be happy to check out a car for you if you would like. If it's the red QV your looking at, I've seen it and although I didn't look at it real close, it looks like a nice car. But again, that opinion is based on just a quick glance. Also, for what it's worth, they do all of the work on my car and I've been very satisfied. They're not cheap, but they are good. Let me know if I can help [email protected] |

I had one experience with them and it was all positive. I found the salesperson (Andy Myer Phone - Day: 206-915-8808) to be knowledgeable and helpful and he continued to offer support after the sale. As I was from out of town, they picked me up at the airport, took me to where the car was getting its PPI (my choice) and fixed the small item that was wrong at their expense. They arranged for shipping and the car arrived in impeccable shape. Obviously, one experience can only be taken for what it's worth but I got the sense while visiting their showroom and talking to a number of people there (both customers and salespeople) that they were above board and dealt with first rate high end cars. Hope this helps. By the way, I also highly reccommend Carlos Furante (253-572-2532) for the PPI. He's the guy the local Ferrari club uses and i was also very impressed. |

I am considering buying a 308 from Park Place Ltd in Washington. Anyone have any experience with these guys? Honest, straight shooters? Crooks? |
