No, no purchasing of any wives for me... :-)

Mrs. Wellington was referring to my current and temporary lack of transportation... Something that i believe will be rectified within a few days...

I think that the best medicine for Bruce would be a trip to some strip clubs. Since his sense of sight is currently a bit out of whack, his other senses must be becoming more sensitive to compensate. A night out with some fellow f-chatters to strip clubs would accomplish the following:
1. Improve sense of feeling in hands and groin area. Bruce would be able to distinguish precisely between size, real or fake, saleen fake or silicon fake boobs simply by feeling them thoroughly. Feeling in his groin area would definitely improve after several lap dances.
2. Sense of smell would improve, as the fragrance of eau de stripper is unmistakeable. Bruce would become so good at smelling that he could tell what region of Joisey a stripper hottie is from, with just one sniff!
3. Bruce's hearing would become so acute, that he could actually distinguish the stripper's names when the dj calls them to the stage!! Impressive.
4. Sense of Taste. I'll leave that alone for you all to ponder.

So, Andrea, can he go out this weekend? After he gets you a nice Valentine's day gift. Please post 'YES'!

As difficult and upsetting as Bruce's ailment is, it has given us a chance to meet and appreciate the woman he married. It sounds like Battery Boy is in good hands. All I want to know is why a sweet person like you married that gruff, uncouth SOB? Were you on the sauce when he proposed?

PS: Bruce, Watch out for DES. I think he has designs on your wife and Testarossa.

EVERYONE
"Floaters" are inter oucular celluar material that float inside the viscus of your eye. They seem as ameobas in your vision as this viscous breaks down and liquifies. To some extent this happens as you get older but floaters can be signs of serious problem as well. Anyone who sees them should get them checked out by an eye doctor ASAP.
I'm not a doctor but believe the above is correct.

Martin,
The laser surgery is just a sort of band-aid...it will not fix the problem...it just stops the blood vessels from multiplying.
We have one more week with eye drops to reduce pressure in the left eye...then its off to Philadelphia to the eye surgeon if the drops fail to work.
I tell Bruce that we will cross every bridge as it comes...there is nothing we cannot handle!:-)

Thanks for the info guys. I am looking them up on the net. I have noticed these gel like amoeba like clear structures that get into my field of vision. They seem to move where I move my eyes. I hope it isn't serious. I am very glad I read this thread. Sorry to change the subject slightly.

Greg, i believe 'floaters' are "spots" that appear when your vision isn't so good or when it's blurred... i could be wrong... Rub your eyes aggresively for a minute, then open them- tell me what you see...?

Bruce,

Hang it there. I too have Diabetes and have begun to notice more "floaters" when reading.

Hopefully, the laser surgery will make all the difference for you. I look forward to a good report about you.

Hutch, Hutch, Hutch... You're going about this all wrong... You, yourself said Bruce is molding you into his own image- with his temporary leave of absence, this is your shot to really step up to the plate... Start using all caps, get rid of that damn CT inflection and get wit' the Joisey lingo...! This is your chance, man...!

get well soon, Bruce - although it sounds like a different malady, I had a retinal tear repaired last year; it took about 10 months for full visual acuity to return to that eye. I stupidly ignored a classic symptom (gray curtain descending from about the 10:30 position each afternoon) for about a week and it's unlikely that I'll ever regain the peripheral vision in that corner of the left eye.
Be patient w/ your recovery, Bruce - I hope it's quick!
take care of your eyes, my brothers - it's hard to drive your F-Car w/out them (unless you're Al Pacino)

Hey, everyone... i just got an email from the Brucer- he had laser surgery done on his eye on Thursday to repair a vessel leakage of sugars and proteins; his diabetes went a little Kramer and now he can't see out of his left eye. He said he's received a lot of email from people inquiring about his lack of presence here on FerrariChat and that's the reason why... He had to cut his email to me, short, as he was having difficulty composing it and his wife had to reply to my reply. Let's all hope he gets well, soon. If you pray, please include him in your respective prayers. Bruce is a great person and i'd like to see him get well, very soon. Thanks, everyone...

No one can replace his signature phrase: "YER ON THE SAUCE AGAIN, GET HOME SAFE"

Get well soon, Bruce...
