It follows, that the cars you refer to as Dinos (especially those actually named Dino)are really Ferraris masquerading as something else. They're really JUST Ferraris! Another coincedence, I also spent a summer at your undergrad school, Valdosta State, for the Governor's Honors Program. |

I suppose if we are to refer to our Ferraris as Fiats, then we should refer to the new Maseratis as Ferraris. Is that the case, Frank? That should follow your legal reasoning. By the way, I attended Mercer undergrad. |

Not as cute as a grown man in a yellow car ! But, I like that, a Honda BBi. I only wish the Italians could make their cars as reliable and as easy to work on as a Honda! |

You can refer to it as a Honda for all we care... It's cute that you have your own little naming system. Ernesto |

I call 3-series Ferraris what FERRARI calls them: A Ferrari. When Ferrari changes the name again to Dino, Ill call them Dinos. Frank is not Ferrari spa, or FNA. Ernesto |

Mark, I'm not being negative, have not tried to hurt others nor do I dislike the V8 cars. I have had two, a 328GTS and a 348 Spider. I loved them both. Why do you consider the "Dino" name an insult. It came from Enzo's favorite deceased son. I'm sure he thought a lot of that name. I know I would if I named a car after my deceased child. I guess your atitude toward the Dino name is the reason why FNA convinced Ferrari Spa. to change the name of the V8 Dinos to Ferrari. As FNA knew, us Americans don't care that the V8 cars are fast, sound good, look good and handle well, we only want them if they have the Ferrari badge on them ! So I guess you wouldn't want a V8 car unless it had a Ferrari badge on it regardless of the fact that it is the same car with the Dino badge affixed ? |

Since Frank Parked likes to screw with everyone and he knows he is being negative switching peoples love for Ferrari V8 ownership into "Dino".... Its becoming a real jerky thing, maybe funny the first 100 times.. but now its just sad. I say we play a word game also. "Frank Parker" should be switched to "bully" (habitually cruel to others who own V8's). I always wonderred why some people can only get their kicks by hurting others.

[toggle dual personality to have fun with Frank ON] Maybe they should start calling the V12's something else than a Ferrari. The 6's and 8's have always handled better than the 12's. If we really wanted a heavy high HP fast in a straight line car then there's plenty of American muscle to choose from. Give me a "handling" Ferrari, that's what they're meant for these days. The V12 heyday of the Mille Milgia and road course straight aways before the "slowing" chicanes are gone. [toggle dual personality to have fun with Frank OFF]

Hmmm...if the 360 replacement comes with a V10, it will be difficult to call it a "Dino". A mid-engined V10, coupled with paddle shifting, will put it closer in character to a Ferrari F1 car. |

Where do they get these names? Monza is good (reminiscent of that time in the early '80s where the new models were named after the sport racers of the '50s and '60s), Imola is a bit weird, though might grow on you, but Bologna? Isn't that the name of the place where Lamborghinis are made? |

Dealers were told last week in Maranello that the 456 successor is definitely not being unveiled in Geneva next month; Ferrari is aiming to release it in September but are not sure of that either. As suggested last month, the 360 Stradale will indeed be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 3 weeks. |

The prospect of a 4 liter V10 has put my heart aflutter. With those extra holes they can up the displacement and keep the stroke short enough to allow (dare I say?) a 10K redline on a production car. This sounds way better than a massaged maser motor. Dave |

there was an article in this month'sautomobile where they say that Ex VW Pres Piech predicted laws willtighten considerably regarding what size/displacement/performance cars can have. I'll probably move back to Buenos Aires when that Sh*t happens |

Those kind of pre-model names are always present before the car goes into production. I don't know who creates those names. But they usually change. I saw the 360 modena was shown as 360 Fiorano in an article before it was first produced. |

Validity of Info: For months that site had listed a September 2003 intro of the replacement for the Modena ( to be called the 420 or 425 Modena). Now they have quietly removed that information. ????? Jake |
