I went to Elementary and High School with Nick. He changed is name after he dropped out of high school in his senior year and got into acting. He changed it to "CAGE" after the American composer "John Cage." He didn't like it than that anyone thought he was getting attention because of the fact that he was Francis Ford Coppolla's Nephew. In addition to having that 360 which was his car, as I also know the gentlemen who sold him that car. He owns several very rare Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and Mid Year Corvettes.

You are correct but he did not change his name until after he got into acting. If you look at hte credits on some of his early films it says Coppola. Also, question, did he legally change his name or does he use it merely as a stage name. You know car titles are legal documents.
Just a thought, and like I said his Bentley had Coppola on it. I believe that car was a mid to late 90's model.

Nick Cage was originally Born Nick Copolla, but he later changed the name to Nick Cage. Since his name was changed to Cage when he got into acting, I highly doubt his name was Nick Copolla when he bought the 360.

"I'm always fascinated by the celebrity car thing."

I'm always fascinated by the celebrity thing in general. Why do so many people follow the private lives of celebrities? Why are actors so venerated? I guess because, being in movies, we project onto the characters we like and this gives the performer a certain aura.

I saw a great movie the other night - didn't have a clue who the actors were (Fat Greek Wedding). But the movie was great. Now, I know that if Tom Cruise had been the star in Fat Greek Wedding it would have earned much more money, thus Tom Cruise is able to command a very large salary. Would have been the same movie though.

Even more curious are "personalities" - why was Regis Philbin so prominent before "Millionaire"? There are all sorts of these individuals that I haven't got a clue why they are known.

Are our own lives so vacant that we live the life of Sting or Madonna vicariously? Explain People magazine otherwise. I like Cage as an actor but I don't care whether or not he owned my car. And I don't care what he does privately anymore than i worry about whether Britney and Justin are cozy.

As for why sell the 360, he is buying and selling all the time, I'm sure, just like kids trade baseball cards. Might be out of space!

Nicolas Cage is a fairly common name and neither of those auctions stated that the cars were owned by Nicolas Cage, THE ACTOR. Plus what Wade said about his name really being Nicolas Coppola. Just a thought....

Eli - AZ is always good! It was raining when I got in last night, but is nice today. Apparently, it's the same storm system which battered LA and is working its way east to dump some serious snow on the mid-atlantic. Glad I'm here!!!

Wade- Good catch on Nick Cages real name. I think I knew that, but blew right by it.

As for his approach to cars, he's definitely a true gearhead by all accounts, but I agree with Eli - it's just another 360 spider, so noly worth market.

If i had cage's kind of money i would have a few special cars (not neccesarilly rare, but special or cars i only want one of, like an M5 an F40). Then i would have cars that i would go through like i go through socks. about a couple of new pairs every few months because thats how long it takes me to wear 'em out.

Gee what a bargain,

A chance to own a car that has been driven / abused by some Hollywood playboy...to me, that should actually reduce the asking price. I'd much rather have a car that was owned by a professional driver or someone with means and respect who would have treated their car properly.

I like Mr. Cage as an actor --- but, I'm not so sure I would like his approach to car ownership...

Would it have Elvis genes in it?

A user on here in Dallas that came to our monthly karting event has a beautiful Black 360 that Corey Dillon sold. I know not a huge deal, but still kinda cool.

Guys I think I would question the validity of this car being Nick Cages, I have met Nick and had diner with him and sold one of his cars. I saw the title to a Bentley he owned and the title was in Nick Coppola not Nick Cage.

Les, how is AZ? You are up very early!

Who cares if Nicolas Cage owned it? spider is a spider. in this market i would not pay more than $185K for that car.

I'm always fascinated by the celebrity car thing. Seems people are willing to pay up (to varying degrees) for the bragging rights that go along with being able to say that "..my car once belonged to _______ ". Always wondered what happens to the value of those cars when the celeb who previously owned it gets arrested for, say being a pedophile, or murdering their spouse? End of the day, that 360 of Nick's is as nice as any other black/black car of it MY, but it ain't nuthin' special! Can't wait to see what it ultimately goes for.

Not sure if it's the quality of the photo or what, but I noticed quite a few scratches on one of the rims. For a car that has even been broken in completely (at less than 2K miles), that's a lot of scratches. Guess he wasn't a very careful driver.

His 355 is awesome! Id take that over the 360...much more unique. I have decided though, I have to leave the classical music industry and move into acting. Then I could have a stable like his :-)
