Cannot get rid of me that easy. From what I understand, Bruce started out with many advantages. How can you and Bruce have so much anger?

Bruce Wellington and I would buy you a one-way ticket to South Africa, but first you would have to get an AIDS immunization shot. Regards, Bruce 'Brass Balls' Wellington Ghostwriter Hutch |

Adam, let me know your thoughts: [email protected] Location: Centurion, a subrub of the capital Preporia. Project has been going on for 4 years, expect it to last for about 8 more years. They pay all expenses to include in county expenses - car, rent, food, insurance, etc. In addition, they pay a certain amount monthly into an offshore bank account. They want me to be System Architect. After one month there can cancel out if I do not like it. Then have to stay for 1 year, probably can get this changed to 6 months. They also have other projects. Work with people like Zerox. They are setting up a system where a Judge can review on line all the evidence in a case plus all the previous legal rulings. The system tracks the case from beginning to end. Access is by password, smart card, and finger print. Have to have all three. Sounds interesting. "We have developed two modules of a Court Process System namely, the Criminal and Civil justice modules. The Criminal system is running live in the courts and police stations in Durban and will be rolled out to Johannesburg soon. The Civil system has been beta-tested. We believe these systems, especially the Civil system, have broken new ground and have found nothing that compares with them. The client (SA department of Justice) requires numerous enhancements to the Criminal system and a re-think / re-packaging of the Civil system to ensure its rapid implementation. The client also has an Integrated Court Management System programme which aims at seamlessly integrating the above systems with all other systems in the law enforcement cluster. We are in a difficult situation currently, in that although we are the prime contractor to the client, we have to date relied other parties to provide the Documentum and architecting skills. We want to and the client requires that we expand the Documentum skills base and become self sufficient in this regard. The candidates we are looking for must, apart from assisting us to deliver the work required, also ensure skills transfer to our own team members as quickly as possible. They are: 1) System Architect Must be an all-rounder with sound background and highly experienced in solution architecting, design and specification. A special focus is document management and Documentum experience. The person must be a good communicator with strong presentation and writing skills. The person must generate state-of-the-art, practical and implementable solutions, be able to sell these and be involved during the SDLC to ensure quality of implementation. 2) Senior Documentum Developer Must have 3-5 years experience in developing solutions using Documentum. Must be able to take full responsibility for design, specification and development of Documentum aspects of the solution and must be experienced in Documentum administration and development." People are also trying to convince me to go to England for 6 months. Any thoughts? Sorry for off topic, but I wanted to tap into the knowledge on the list. |

Due to time differences was not able to get more information this afternoon. Should have more information tomorrow and after a conference call on Monday. Location: wherever the main gov't offices are in SA. Duration: depends on what point they were at when they discovered they needed help. Generally three months to several years. Could be as long as 4 to 8 years or as short as a month or two. I can be bought for money and fun/adventure. This does not include getting killed. However, I normally can take care of myself. I used to bum around in Harlem at 3 AM on Friday & Saturday nights (younger days) and have operated in South America for the US Military under a special passport. Isn't South Africa where all the white farmers were being killed? DES: if I go there, will send you some things. Happy Valentine's Day to everyone and their families/friends! Dave |

I lived in ZA for a bit of time, both in Gauteng (Jo-burg) and Durban. Jo-burg is one of THE most dangerous places I have been to, and Durban is only a bit better. Santon City just outside of Jo-burg is fantastic. Very high end like Short Hills in NJ. I was required by my firm to have a driver / bodyguard because of how bad the crime, esp car jackings are. The do not just steal the car, they kill you too. No one has a spyder in ZA, you do not even drive with your window open in the city. Cape Town was great, as well as Sun City. The Rand -> $$ is excellent at 7-1. If you are there more than a few months you have to get a gun permit for your own protection. The people are great, both black and white. However jail is not as bad as living the way some poor blacks do, and so crime is an option, so one must always be careful. I truly enjoyed my time there and would go back if I could.

I felt safer there then I do living in Los Angeles. Though, I didn't get to J-berg and was around the small towns and cities a couple hours from it. I only spent several weeks there, stayed at a Safari camp actually. Our caucasian host, his wife, and his employee's all spoke African, English, and German. More people we encountered then not spoke some English and African. And some German as well. Our host also had a 348GTS and an S500, that I'll never forget |

Sorry for the OT, but there are some knowledgable people on the board. These people are hot to get me to South Africa. Only place I have been in Africa is Kenya - a couple of times as a photographer for magazines. How safe is it now in South Africa for a white American? For enough money and fun, I can be bought. I wander if they will pay shipping to SA for a Unimog and a Ferrari. Thanks for any information. Dave Subject: RE: Documentum Project Date: Fri, 14 Feb 2003 17:33:51 +0200 From: "Angus Young" <[email protected]> To: "David Wapinski" <[email protected]> Hi Dave, I just tried to call you but got your voice mailbox. I have left a brief message. There is a state project linking a few of the departments and they are doing quite an extensive rollout. I am not personally involved in the project as our organisation is a resource supplier to the guys who won the state tender. One of the project managers found your resume on the web and asked me to see if we could get you to SA? Let me know what your feelings and possible timings are regarding this and I will set up a chat directly with the project manager. If you are not available maybe you know of some other people who may be interested? In total I could utilise about 4 high ends skills. Look forward to hearing from you soon.
