>>>or for masochistic street use."<<< I worked on the one Mecom owned and drove it on the street, mostly on the freeway....would have to agree that street driving would require a different exhaust for one thing and the slow speed steering was a real bear with the wider wheels and comp susp. and alignment specs. Otherwise they are badass cars. |

I just called Bonhams in London. They do not know were the car is, and they do not have it listed for any future auction. |

Jim Tks for the barchetta suggestion. I looked into it and they really have all of the daytonas. I also recommend the book by Christian Huet, Ferrari 365GTB/4 Groupe 4 Daytona Competizione. A fairly comprehensive review of all the orginal cars, including detailed history and anecdotes about the races in which they participated. |

Eduardo I looked at the photos of the Bosch car. If you go to Barchetta site -serial #- 1972- and scroll to the bottom there are pics of all three series. The car that Francois did/ Bonhams as a clone of the NART car which he worked on when it was raced is very nice. I remember seeing the NART car race it was great. I think it would be very important to see these cars in person as some clones are very poorly done and some are done very well. Photo's are one thing but you have to see and touch them really know. I also know of a 275GTB C a real comp car that is for sale. I'll post a pic tomorrow. Best Jim |

Pascal Could not find your e mail address. I am interested in finding out where the Bonham's car is. I am trying to call them to see if they can give me a clue.

The Shelton car was sold, and it is no longer available. Mike Sheehan has a car, available in Europe. The euro to dollar rate, plus the requested price by the vendor, makes it somehow expensive, although the car looks great and gorgeous. That is why I am looking for an alternative. Tks anyway for your hints. |

The Bonhams Ferrari only sale at Gstaad in December 2002 had one for sale at an estimate of SwissFr 340,000 to 380,000 (Chassis # 15723). The car is road registered with German plates. The hammer price went to SFr 230,000 and the car was withdrawn. It has 18,900 miles and comes with FIA papers. The car was originally in Bill Harrah's collection and was converted to Competition format by Francois Sicard in CT, ex Chinetti motors mechanic. I have driven a real competition Daytona at Monza and the car will put some hair on your chest, very fast but heavy, requires drifting through fast corners, very noisy and hot, in other words amazing. E-mail me directly if you want more info. |

I am looking for a Daytona Competizione Conversion. Does anyone know where can I find one? Has anyone had experience with this type of car? Do you know someone who has driven this type of car? Tks in advance. |
