Tony, I'm pretty sure it was a 512BB, not a 308. I agree, that's a great scene.

Bobby Dearfiled is a 70's Al Pacino F1 movie-F1 cars and a nice Alfa GTV
Christine is a Plymouth Fury with personality.

More Ferrari movies-Against all odds (?) with Rachel Ward-features a nice street race between a 308 and a 911 cabrio.

DES, I thought F&F was fine, but some things really pissed me off...

First and foremost, why the heck did they pick a F355 (Spider, no less)- a car that isn't a dragster or dynoqueen- to race a 600 (give or take) horsepower turbo charged missile? What was the director trying to prove? That rice rockets are fast? Well, you don't have to convince me, but IMHO, they could have put something like a Diablo Roadster... Either way, a F355 Challenge would beat the living piss out of that over wieght Supra on the track...

And another thing...

When it launched it had trouble keeping up w/ the F355 (a 13 second car mind you...) yet, it keeps up with a 9 second Charger at the end with it's NOS pumping... There is no way a 11-12 second car like that Supra would keep up with that Charger, if it's as fast as they say it was, even with nitrous...

And what of the yellow GT-R? That's a halo car for the Japanese tuning scene? Why didn't it get any um, "parts?"

I'll see the next one, just because I'm a car enthusiasts, and like you, I like to entertained... but sometimes, Hollywood just doesn't add up...

I'm with Mr. Suarez; I think the last movie made for purists was made by a purist - Steve McQueen's "LeMans". was that 1971? it cost a huge amount of money (for those days) and was a flop by the industry standards - I think hollywood has been scared of any race/car-purist movie since then. and if anyone says "Driven" or "Days of thunder" are for purists, then your F-car keys should be taken away . . .
I generally liked 'gone in 60' for the array of cars - Angelina greeting the Ferraris w/'hello, ladies' works for me . . .

All three movies had ridiculously stock characters, sophomoric dialogue, and overly simplistic interactions between characters. The plots were not too bad, compelling if you're into cars. The direction was so-so in "FF", which was entertaining, good in "Driven", the most mature of the three, and horrendous in "Gone...", which I hated....it was a horrible movie.

Having said that, I'd gladly sit down and watch any of them again just to watch the cars, so what the hell do I know?

The Fast and the Furious as well as Driven had laughable plots, while Gone in 60 Seconds was a bit better, though not by much. That's just IMO.

At least Driven showed decent cars (I always liked those turbo-charged Champ Cars, especially the Reynard Hondas).

I think the main reason has to be how these newer flicks completely misrepresent what F-cars are all about.
Although my favorite part of gone in 60 seconds is when they listen to the tape of a Daytona going through the revs. That 12 cylinder sings!!!

I would really like to see a car movie made for purists. I think they could make some solid money on it. Ricers not allowed

Damn- stereotypically, Ferrari owners seem to be tough movie critics- at least, to me... :-)

i liked The Fast & The Furious, i liked Gone In 60 Seconds & i liked Driven- maybe i'm just a total sucker for eye candy, but i thought they were good... Any reason why most seem to frown upon these flicks...?

Well, that ruined it for me.
Since you mentioned that, it makes the movie seem "Unrealistic" to me now.

If that's the one thing from that horrible movie you're picking on, then.... :-)

Frank Ferraris ment for europe are a little diffrent than ferraris ment for the US. He was talking about the ferraris that were specified for US being in what was supposibly europe.

Did anyone notice in the movie triple x (XXX), when they showed the room full of cars, that the Ferrari's weren't euro's even though they were supposed to be from europe?
