I like the way some boards use cookies to bring up the latest non-read post regardless of what page it's on. Then you scroll down from there.

definitely leave it the way it is...i hate the boards that you have to scroll down to find new responses....audiworld.com sucks because people post so dam much that you can spend 20 minutes looking for responses...roadfly.com (the bimmer board) sucks so much most people went over to bimmerforums.com because there it works like it does here

Its easier to scroll down and go top to bottom then have to scroll down the first time and scroll back up to read and then come back to a thread and rescroll back down to figure out where you left off and then scroll again back up...ugh...just my opinion

Rob, keep it the same! I don't want to spend the time to scroll though everything I've read to get to the most recent post.

Newest at top! I like it this way. It works very well, it blows me away that some of you want to scroll down to see the new posts.

Yet again, another vote to keep it the way it is. Makes more sense and infinitely easier to keep tabs on the posts. Upload

Rob, Keep it the way it is. Real easy to check posts. I hate those sites with pages that need to be run through to review the entire thread. John

I you think out of the box a little, this format makes a lot of sense. Ferrari's are a little different and much better than you average sports car...so is this board format...most recent post on top!

Henry,

I personally like most current on top. It's much easier to check back on a thread that way. I can see it's somewhat harder to follow one that you have to read from the beginning, but much ... easier to follow an ongoing thread

Rob, definitely not, keep the entire thread on one single page, whether it's top to bottom or bottom to top. That's what scroll bars are for!

Rob, would it be possible to have a way to go back and edit your existing thread/message? That way when we screw up we don't have to look like idiots indefinitely.

I did not know that, thanks. [Reply to above].

Please Please.. Top to bottom... great site here just its so much easier to me top to bottom.. hey thats how we read here in th u.s... not bottom to top.. everytime i have to scroll all the way to the bottom first partially reading other comments that dont make sense yet and then start on the bottom and go all they way up. And if i come back to a topic its even more of a pain.. sorry just my opinion

no don't do it, as was pointed out it sucks for those who don't have a life and spend our life on F-chat :-) the best option is to give each user the preference in their set up if possible.

yes, looks like you top down users are slowly winning me over, but you like those other boards where you have to click on the bottom page 1 2 3 4 5 6 until you get to the most recent messages?

Crazy, I'll never understand, but I will do what most of the users prefer.

Henry, the point in Rob formatting the board like that is if you recheck a thread periodically to contribute, you don't have to scroll all the way to the bottom just to see what the last piece of input was...that would be a real pain.

As of right now, nope, I think we're changing formats though so it shouldn't be too long before you can read it the way you want.

Rob and/or others,

Is there a way to view each thread with the originating thread at the top? If I first click onto a thread that I have not read yet, I always have to read from the bottom up. Any way to read from the top down?

Henry
