There was an article about 3 or 4 years ago in Automobile magazine. The writer talked about his love for a 330 GT 2+2 that he had once owned and some years later tracked it down and purchased the same car again.

Robin, I'm not sure of Ed's financial situation now, but I'm sure he hadn't "made it big" yet when he owned s/n 0463GT back in the late 60s. In fact, one well-known Ferrari historian had a fairly complete owner history on the car, with all names on file except for Ed. During the period of Ed's ownership it simply stated that the car was owned by "some hippie in Northern California!"

Whoa! The publisher of Thrasher magazine is a Ferrari guy??? I remember reading that back in the 80's when it was a 40 page newsprint rag, where the ink came off on your fingers and the writing/editing was done by skater dudes in the style of Jeff Spicoli. Hard to believe those guys made it big. Interesting story!

Those of you who subscribe to Cavallino might have read in the "Lettere" section over the past few issues about Ed Riggins' (publisher of "Thrasher" magazine) search for information on a special 250 GT that he owned some thirty years ago. I'm proud to say that I was involved in helping Ed identify the car by chassis number and track down its current owner. He will be going to see the car in person in a couple of weeks and, though he is hoping the current owner will sell, he says it sounds doubtful. We'll see.

i happened upon my old 308 about a year ago. if it wasn't for the fact thati had just bought another car iwould have a bought it back. it had over 15k miles placed on it in the 3 years i didn't own it. i knew what type of condition it was in when i sold it, but found myself back to square 1 as to the old "has it been maintained, taken care of, etc, etc, etc", which was a stange feeling. if i could find it again for sale, i don't think i could allow it to slip away once more.

i'm not one PERSONALLY, (i wish) but i did read an interesting story... in FORZA 36 they had an article on Bill Marriot's (yes... the hotel guy) collection. He had to sell one of his cars- a 500 TRC - due to some financial reason. Fortunatly his timing was good... he sold it in the early eighties. He has since (1998) bought the car back, needless to say, i bet, at a substantially lower price. Just goes to show you when one door closes another opens...
If you have the magazine the article makes for a good read....
I know this isnt a personal story but i hope this is in the right ball-park...

I took a lot of interest in the thread wanting to know who is the original owner of their car but here is another one for you. Who here has sold their Ferrari and ended up buying the exact same car back some time later. Lets hear some stories.
