My car was in it last year, Willis. I got in at the last minute, no problems.
Really looks like I would be spectator only this year. |

Willis, The cut-off date for the Italian Concours at the pier is 8/31/01 (but I'm sure they wouldn't turn you away the day of the show either). See the article about it on the front page of the club's August newsletter. If you need an application email me or call Bruce Carroll for one. They are offering our club members a discount. If we get 10+ people to sign up, the fee is reduced to $25 instead of $35. The form and check needs to be mailed to me to get this discount however. Again, ALL the info is in the August newsletter at http://www.ferrariclub.com/newsletter/ Gary |

Gary, I will go to the BCC meet then. Hope to me you and others there. How far ahead of time do I need to get my car registered for the Pier Concours? Willis |

Willis, Welcome to the NW Region FCA! I just heard about your frustrations with not receiving the regional club info. The FCA National has been very very slow on updating us with new members information. Sorry!! The August newsletter is now online at the club's web site with all the articles about upcoming events. Please note that the Nile Concours scheduled for 8/12/01 is NOT taking place. The group putting it on could not get the golf course, and this event has been moved to the Bellevue Community College on August 11. Our club will not be having a judged concour within this event, but everyone is asked to please bring their cars to display. All of the details of this event are on the front page of the July newsletter, which is on the web site under "past issues" on the newsletter download page. I've been a member of this club for four years and a board member (treasurer) going on three, and I can honestly say that we really have lots of very nice people who participate and get involved with planning and attending events. I think we have as many or more events than any region in the country. I am looking forward to seeing you(and your 360)at one very soon! Gary Reed PS: Regarding the Pier Concours, you should go! It's a very informal type of show. All of the so called judging is done by car owners who attend the show. It is NOT like Pebble Beach. There's plenty of cars there that have rock chips, because people love to DRIVE them. |

I go to the Pier Concours event every year. I'm not sure if I should enter the car though. The car looks pretty good from beyond 5 feet. Any closer than that you could see that some spots are pretty beat up(small rock dings, chips, and various scratches)from just normal driving. I will post a picture as soon as I could get a picture scanned. |

Willis, Don't feel alone! I joined the NW club and it took me several weeks to get any information and a few emails to get the password to the site. My emails were pleasant though and I felt like I was being helped - just slowly. Look forward to meeting you, Stewart and the rest at Nile/BCC(?) this month. I wish I had made it to Jenkins place, but the rain got me down. BTW - how about some pics of that Black beauty of yours???? |

Any of you guys going to the Italian Concours D'elegance at pier 62/63, Seattle on Sept 2nd? I doubt that I'll have my car ready by that time, but you never know! |

Eric: Are the "All Car Club Meet" and the "Concours at the Niles Golf Club" the same thing?? I thought these are two separate events. On the web site (http://www.ferrariclub.com/events/) there is a "Concours at the Niles Golf Club" for August 12th. And July's newsletter mentioned a "All Car Club Meet" at BCC for August 11th. I am a bit confused... |

Hi Willis, Welcome to the club. I joined the NW FCA chapter about 1.5 years ago, and have to say it's been a really great addition to my also recent Fcar ownership. The guys in the club are all great, and the evenets are pretty varied, so there's a little something for everyone. I'm also the editor of the NW chapter newsletter, and a member of the board. I can't really say why you haven't heard more from us yet, except to guess that things have gotten hung up at the National level, and not been passed on to the local chapter. As Stewart says, send Steve email, and ask if he can get you on the mailing list. I'll send email to the rest of the board pointing out your frustration and see if I can't help push form that end as well. Drop me a line at [email protected] with your SnailMail address, and I'll have a newsletter sent your way. The August issue just hit the mail, and should be arriving in most member's boxes any day now. The upcoming event is a general car show for all makes, which last year was at the Nile golf course, but this year is being held at the Bellevue COmmunity College. It's not an official club event, but I suspect several members will be there. I look forward to seeing you and your 360 soon. eric |

Stewart, "All Car Meet"? Is this for all Italian cars or just all types of cars? I'm game for the Niles Golf Club event. Hungarian Grand Prix starts 7:30am Eastern. Willis |

Hungarian GP is on August 19. There is an "All Car Meet" on August 11. And the "Concours at Niles Golf Club" on August 12. |

Willis, FCA national IS slow. Took me at least two months before I got all my info. I believe the local chapter will not activate you and set you up with an email account and everything else until they get "official" notice from national. Until that time, you just have to check the website regulary and email Steve J. That's what I did until I was "official". No big deal... BTW, when is the Hungary race? August 12th? I can host if that is the date.... |

I was told by Steve Jenkins via email that FCA was slow (this slow!?). But, man, even without the paperwork from FCA, I should, at the very least, be kept informed of events offical and unoffical by email. It's the lack of contact that really bugs me and the fact that they took money from me already. Anyway, enough of my belly-aching. Let's talk about more positive stuff. Willis |

This has to be an isolated case and a SNAFU somewhere that Willis is not getting the newsletter nor the emails. My own experience with the NW chapter and the members have been great. There is something going on almost every weekend. Sure, participation is on your own so it is up to you to show up. Besides the official stuff, some of us routinely get together to watch F-1 races on Sundays. I will make sure you get notified should we have a Hungarian GP party. Dave Handa you listening? ;-) If you host the party, I will bring the Tubi. |

If you think the Northwest FCA is bad, then come to Dallas. We have nothing. Looking at the ferrariclub website I think that region is one of the most active, your name is probably just being processed slow. I would confirm with the membership chairman. |

Stewart, The problem is that I'm just not getting anything from them. I know this because my brother is also a member and he's getting stuff and information that I'm not getting. Yeah, I've been to the website also. You'd think it would help if they give me the password to the member's section but I had to get that from my brother. I've been told that FCA is slow in processing my information. But I've inquired enough times for the local guys to know that I'm a real member and not some yahoo pestering them. Yet, I still don't get any email notices of events. I've been a guest at a couple of local meets last year and I agree that the people are cool. As far as Ferrari of Seattle know, I have the only black Modena in the state (so far and hope it stays that way). I'll be going to the next club event. See you there. Willis |

Hey Willis! Welcome to the club! I am not a board member but I am an active member and I know all the members on the board pretty well. They are all great people and I think somehow your name has fallen through the crack. You should be receiving the club newsletter in the mail plus email notifications on all events. We would all like to meet you and your black Modena, as far as I know, the only black 360 in the club so far. The next club event is Concours at Nile Golf Club on August 12. Hope to see you there! Hello, I joined the FCA recently and got a confirmation of my membership pretty fast via email and, to my surprise, a welcome aboard phone call. So here I am,in the Seattle area, nearly 2 months since joining and not a peep from anyone responsible for the Northwest Chapter. Oh sure, they respond when I make inquiries but I've gotten not much else. No invites to any events. I don't even have the club newsletters which I already paid for!! I've been a ferrari fan for 25 years now (since 11 years old). I had hoped that joining the club will enhance my enjoyment of my car with like-minded people. The experience with the club so far has not been very encouraging. Ferrarichat.com is becoming a great forum to share stories and tips. I've been a lurker of this site since the beginning and I'm impressed with the quality and variety of topics here. This is what a club should be like. Anyway, I'm making myself known to everyone here and hope to have many interesting discussions. Best Regards, Willis Huang black 360 Modena F1 (serial#123225) P.S. I'm curious to know how often people drive their Ferraris and where they drive them. I usually "exercise" my car 3 to 5 times a week on country backroads. I like to hear especially from people living in the Seattle area. |
