I had HRE 545's on my 348 and weighed them against the stock 348 wheels on a scale and they were approx 7 lbs. lighter per wheel and they always stayed true even going through some bad potholes that I could've sworn bent the rims and they always stayed a clean polished look with very little cleaning. It's my favorite wheel and would buy them again although it would cost more than 5grand for a complete set of wheels and tires. Nothing out in the market for wheels interest me as I've always liked the look of 5 spoke forged 3 pc. wheels. I looked at Kinesis but didn't care for the looks compared to the HRE. | ||

work emotions look amazing on 355's.  the 18's start at 600, and the 17's at 500; these wheels are forged and very light. 12lbs for the 17's, and 13.5 for the 18's. | ||

HRE's are only bling bling if you want. They have wheels similar to the SAC you posted plus a lot of other interesting spoke designs. With HRE (and fiske I am sure), you can specify what treatment you want the center to have. Just Choose silver or brushed aluminum centers versus high polish or chrome to keep the bling bling down. | ||

Ricky, the wheels are quite attractive. But keep in mind that they will be a B!TCH to clean, especially if you don't clean them every week. As for considering 18" v. 19", ask yourself -- why? Performance? Your 355, if the suspension is stock, is set up for 18" tires. Going to 19" might allow you to get even stiffer sidewalls, but your contact patch won't be bigger. You will NOT notice a difference on the street. It might even be worse, if the 19" wheel/tire combo may increase your unsprung weight. And 19" tires are more expensive, and remember, the 355 doesn't have a spare, so the last you want is to hit a pothole and get stranded. If you do go with new wheels, consider what Bob Ziino did -- get wider ones, and/or use wider tires. My $.02. vty, --Dennis | ||

Ricky by all means go ahead i alway liked the SAC wheels specially 19 inch on a 355. Fikse are just plain ugly. | ||

HRE's, Fikse and Kinesis wheels are all very similar in weight. The differences are negligible unless you are very competitive and need to get down to the ounce. the wheels you posted Ricky - they look very clean and I think they'll go very well on a 355. they have all the angles, yet the rounded edges, just like the 355. | ||

i always thought HRE's were heavy...i was going to go with fikses but the SAC rims have won my heart... tod, i'm loving this car...we should meet up again sometime | ||

I was always partial to HRE's yet I never really gave any other wheel a fair shake...by the looks of the picture they look pretty damn sharp. Have you seen them on a 355? That would be key in your decision. Keep in touch Ricky...can't wait to see your car again since we last met...Tubi, Mats, Wheels, etc...you must be pumped up Cheers! | ||

I put HRE on my F355 and was able to get 295 rear and 255 front Michelin Pilots on. I helped braking and handling and looks much better.  | ||

Ricky-Go for it. I have seen these wheels on a black F355 and they look great. They will definately set your F355 apart from every other red Ferrari on the street corner. If you are worried about resale later on down the road (someone looking for a bone stock F355), simply hang on to the original wheels. JMO | ||

I disagree with Andrew. It is your car and if it pleases your eye, that is what is most important. There is nothing wrong with personalization. If your car is strictly for concours judgeing and is a garage/trailer queen, then maybe Andrew's opinion is justified. If everybody who owned an Armani suit had the same color/ fabric/ buttons, they'd be wearing "just" another Armani. You can always keep the old wheels for the purist buyer (or concours - if that's your thing) when resale time comes. It's not like wheels can't be undone and the 355 isn't a "vintage car" yet. Now people who over restore a Scaglietti bodied Ferrari and made the car perfectly symetrical, THAT's a crime. (imo) BTW I own a 355 as well Jeff Davison | ||
