Since owning a Ferrari, I have tried to be stuck up and conceded, with out much success. I'm still working at it though. Right now I am really good at insulting the other Ferrari owners in my area and telling them how much better my Ferrari is than their's. |

Peter, i also know i will own one some day. It gives me something to work for. Going to dealerships gives me more motivation in school knowing that im working hard to own one some day. The guy i met (did anyone look in the july issue of c&d, pg. 116?) said he got his ferrari from working his ass off in school. Since my trip to tennesse i think differently about that kind of stuff though. That guy's clk 60 could have fed the family who's house i repaired for 5 years. All too often we get cought up in material possesions. |

Tim, keep this up. When I was about 12 years old, I went down to the local Ferrari dealer (then: Luigi's Sports Cars, Montreal, Canada) just to look at the cars. Mr. Luigi always let me look around and always answered my many questions I had. He gave me brochures and other Ferrari collectibles and even a keychain (yes, the ones given to new owners when they buy the car. These were $40+ at the time). I still have that keychain, now there are keys on it... I knew one day I would have a Ferrari, I just never imagined it would happen at 24. |

I dont even own one, but i can only imagine what it would be like. They truly are passionate. especially the pre-89 enzo cars. love all ferraris, but the classic ones have something special about them. I remeber a quote by enzo, it was something to the effect of "aerdynamics are for people who can't build engines." I dont know why, but that quote struck a chord with me. There are other quotes by him that i cant recall, but i do remeber that they expalined how ferraris were personal. Dont ask me what i mean by that because i dont even know. All i know is that they are. Itts like i said. It cany be put to words. |

TIMN, You have summed it up in your statement. It's the love and passion for the car and only the person who feels it KNOWS what it means to them. |

it's true, most ferrari owners are nice guys. As far as i know, everyone on this board is "cool". i aspire to be one of you some day. Its only a matter of time. The guy i met explaiined to me the difference between a wish and a plan. According to him i have a plan. Another mercedes club memeber asked me why i wanted a ferrari. He asled me why not a maserati or a jaguar. I told him that nothing could match the heritage and passion of a ferrari. I also said it cant be put into words, which as most (hopefully all of you)would agree it cant. |

One more thing to add. Everyone thinks ferarri owners are stuck up and conceded. The one i just met was anything but that and i have yet to meet one who is. |

On my way back from ASP in tennesse the group i was with stayed at a hotel. There was some type of mercedes race at summit point, which was 10 minutes away from the hotel we were staying at. Anyway, there was a RennTech CLK 60 there. I was talking to the owner about the car and he told me to work hard in school and i could have one too. I quickly responded with "Maybe after i get a ferrari." He said he owned one. He owns a 1955 250 speciale. It is blue and is one out of four. I told him about the site. Hopefully he will join. For those of you not interested in his CLK, you can leave now. If you have the july issue of Car & Driver, turn to page 116, his car is the silver CLK. He used it in the onle lap of america competition. It has about 550 hp. It was bored to 6 liters and is supercharged. It sounder great when he handed me the key and asked my to start it. Its top speed is around 210 but he only had it to 180 on a track. If anyone wants i'll post pics of it (engine, exterior, interior)Sorry in advance for yet another non- entirely ferrari related post. |
