I think the speed 12 had 600 hp at the very least, I also remember the top speed being a lot higher than 190 1 TVR Chief said it was a crazy idea to unleash it on the road LOL |

William, Didn't the speed 12 have something like 600 NA HP? It went, if memory serves, 3.2 0-100kph with a top end of 190 |

TVR built a monster called the Speed 12 that can give a McLaren F1 a bad hair day Its a huge V12 , looks like a car crossed with a steam locomotive, very aggressive looking |

My friend has a Tuscan, and it is an animal. It is so fast, so raw, and loud. Wild ride |

I had a 65 TVR Griffith. Sold it to my nephew, in Chicago. He always draws a crowd when he goes to the suburban car shows. It seems many of the suburbs offer a car show at various nights of the week.....depending on the suburb. Nothing, yet, has beat him in a street drag race. The car has a 289 V8 with Gurney Eagle aluminum heads, from that era. It weighs about 1500 pounds, and has 300 HP. I call it the "beast from hell". |

As you guys can see, the performance specs are quite nice too. I bet it is a hoot to drive. I would think car collectors would love them too. |

The other nice thing is Wheeler is a tall guy so all his cars fit the over 6ft crowd. I'd be in line to get a Tuscan if/when they come here. No traction control or other electronic nannies. |

Jason, Peter Wheeler is good friends with one of mine, and he has relayed that TVR is currently in search of dealers in the US (screening them as we speak), and is even considering building a facility, most likely in Dallas (not sure what the thought process behind that is). I'll prod him for more details when I see him. --Dan |

TVR are beautiful cars, but, I have never been overly impressed with build quality/finishing... Saying that NOTHING sounds like a TVR and if I didnt have my Ferrari I would have a TVR Tuscan S. There are obviously loads of them here in the UK, but I have seen as many bent on the back of car carriers as I have on the road! I think with all that power and no traction control, abs etc it demands serious respect. Fantastic machines all the same |

They are really unique cars. I would like to have one as a second car. Anyone else agree? |

Believe it or not it comes from the original engineer that designed the first 'TVR' in 1947. His name was TreVoR Wilkinson...The T,V,R were extracted from his name. Thankfully the cars show more imagination! Amazing but true |

TVR is from the founders name TreVoR Wilkinson. I have a "69 vixen which is a lot of fun and handles unbelievable. There have been rumors that they could look to import them again - they are supercars. Marc Ruben, who is the former president of the TVR club in the US is also on this site - he has on of the nicest older TVR's in the states. |

As of right now, they're near impossible to import to the USA. You lucky Brits. ;-) |

TVR make some amazing looking (and sounding!) cars. I didn't realise they were a rarity in the states. They are slightly more common than Ferrari's in the UK, but not as common as Porsches! The interiors are as mad as the exteriors! The only problem is that they have a poor reputation for build quality. Do you know why the company is called TVR? |

Finally figured out what the car is that John Travolta drives in the movie Swordfish. It is a TVR Tuscan and it is a serious piece of work, check this out. www.tvr-eng.co.uk |
