If your Ferrari doesn't leak oil, it may be down a couple of quarts.

Thanks for everones input. As of yesterday, my car is in the bay and the engine is on a engine stand awaiting for the trasmission to be put on. They never removed the heads, thus they just resealed everything. Yea, it took them this long. As I stated, the car was promised back in August, and in one month it would be complete. If I received the car back then, I can see where I could feasible foresee to pay $10,000, if it was justified. But for this reason I don't believe I should. Oh by the way, the 30K service is included. I hate to be taken advantage of, just because I have this car. |

Sounds like your car is definitely on their "back burner".

Peter, There is no logical reason for a car to be tied-up for that long. Even if the engine had been removed and completely overhauled, it would have been finished a long time ago. Something is wrong with this picture. Find out what's going on from the management and be suspicious of some damage they may have done. |

I hope you have a firm quote for the work that they are doing! Have you been informed along the way of what they are doing?, if not I would be extremely concerned. You should always be informed of what they are doing, and they should stop work IMMEDIATELY if they need to go further UNTIL you give the okay. That is how my father ran his repair garage and that is how to make sure the customer is informed and will not have a heart attack when they get the bill. Next course of action: I would have a good discussion with the manager and find out exactly what they are doing, and why. I would discuss why you were not informed and where they are going with these repairs. If you do not get satisfactory answers to these questions I would request strongly that they stop ALL work and REMOVE the car from the premises ASAP. This will probably have to involve a lawyer, and the ASAP is important before the car goes missing ... thus I would have some mates organised so that if the meeting goes bad you can collect your car STRAIGHT away ... and then argue about the bill and details with your car in YOUR garage. Naturally if they have found that the oil leak was caused by say a head gasket and thus needed to pull the motor to fix ... this is a major. Thus I am not saying that they are necessarily idiots, but THEY should have told you by now that they have to do this to fix the leak ... and it will cost extra, etc. Keeping the customer informed is what professional businesses do. Sounds like you do not have a communication channel. Best of luck Pete |

I have a 308 that I brought in the shop 7 months ago. They promised a lead time of one month. The second promise came and went. As of today, my engine is in pieces and out of the car, for an oil leak!@#$%^& Any advise would be helpful. Thanks. |
